8560 wont start-part 2

Went through some starting problems last November...Other thread here...http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/mahindra-owning-operating/325388-8560-wont-start.html

I thought I had it fixed but my battery is dead again. Lucky for me it didn't ruin the battery. Here is what I have now. When I got the battery charged back up, when I hooked it up I could hear a solenoid click over by the fuse box. It was the top solenoid marked head light. It will throw every time the cable is connected to the battery so I believe it is killing the battery. None of the lights come on when I hook the battery up, could a switch be bad? Can anybody tell me what lights the top relay run...well guess I could go out and plug it in and find out for myself! Ill be back!

You could unplug that relay, then hook up the battery. That would get you going. Whatever light does not work after that is what that relay controls. Then trouble shoot what switch/etc. controls that relay with the battery installed. Without a print, it's hard to do much long distance. My 5035 had a print in the back of the operators manual and also one on a PDF file on the CD disk copy stuck in the back of the manual. Good luck, Jerry....

Check to see if your intake manifold heater is staying on. The relay that controls it was a problem on my 7520. It is supposed to time out and open, but was sticking on.

Well I figgured out what the problem was. The dummy who worked on it last(me) had swapped the starter relay with the head lamp relay. Both look the same but are different inside. Thanks for the help. My tractor is back running good.
