Dump wagon made from a 68 JD 110 frame.

Heres how I made a very heavy duty dump wagon from a JD 110 running gear I had laying around. I cut the frame just in front of the rear axle, rotated the front section 180 and welded it back together. I reinforced the joint with 1/4" thick plate. Eith dome help from my daughter we made a very solid box for it. At the time I made this I had an X500 so I used a 1500# electric linear actuator to raise the bed. The ehole thing ead about $100. Since I have sn x728 now ill be switching to a hydraulic cylinder instead of the actuator. Ive hauled loads of landscape rock with it and have had no problems at all.

Wow! Now that's a trailer. Do the steering wheels track with the trailer when you turn or did you weld them solid to stay parallel to the rear wheels?

I used the rear hitch plate, drilled 2 holes in it and fastened the tie rods to it. That way I could still set the toe-in to help it trail straight.

At some point you're going to think about removing that front axle. When moving around rough terrain it will lift the rear of your tractor up when the front axle hits a bump. If your tractor is similar to the JD 110 you used for the trailer, its going to lift enough weight off the tractor axle that it will loose traction. Just my thought

My terrain is very flat. I figured the occasional dips in the land when designing the tongue height. With the 3pt in float I dont have that problem.

Obviously a timeless design. How has it been working out?
Is it meeting the intended use as envisioned by your four year old?
