When switching between implements(blade to FEL) where do you store the ones not in use?

On my 2360 I don't have the option to use both the loader and front blade at the same time, as an example. Either the loader arms or the front blade and sub-frame have to come off. Do you store them inside, an equipment barn or out in the elements?

always a compromise as room is a premium. I store my rotational attachments under cover, either tarp or dry storage. My attachments that do not move via the PTO stay outside in the harshest of elements. So far so good.

I keep all my toys on skids in the barn. Just wheel my choice to the tractor use the QH to mount and go.

all of mine stay indoors in one of 2 separate sheds. ill not leave expensive implements out in the weather.

I am fortunate to have room in my barn for all of mine. If I didn't, I would buy some kind of pre-fab shelter for implements-they last longer and look so much better when shedded.

My tractor and implements are stored in a 24x36 metal building with a concrete floor. All implements are on stands with 5" swivel casters so they can be stored along the sides and rolled to the tractor as needed. Tractor and implements look like the day they were purchased and hook up is effortless.

I store mine in a shed I built for the purpose eight or ten years ago:

It has a concrete floor, which works well with the dollies I made for each implement to make it easier to hook them up, and to let me squeeze more into the space:

Don't have any place to put it so my stuff lives outside except for the hay equipment ($$$) and the bush hog ($) which lives indoors during the off season.

Just rented a farm with a couple equipment sheds, so that may change.

Every single one of my attachments are stored outside, in the weather, all year long. Just like my tractor (although at times it's stored in my father's garage but it doesn't live there)

I'd love a barn for everything, it really would be nice.

small stuff / electronic stuff in shed. rest outside on concrete. keep the stuff out of the mud and out of the weeds for quicker mowing / weed eating, and keeps from finding that un-friendly snake or critter under some decks / metal.

do not even bother with a tarp or anything for stuff outside. at most some rust, and need to hit some things with grease when it actually gets used, and the rust comes off within a few minutes of use on the blades/discs/cutting edges. no water pools on any of it. to much moisture a tarp can hold in, figure just better to let the stuff drip dry, and wind dry out faster.

tarps just tear up and make lots of noise, and gives rodents and other critters a spot to nest.

Same as boggen, except on gravel. My small tractors are covered with a tarp however. An equipment shed would be nice though.

Mine are currently stored outside, but I put a tarp over anything with hydraulics or pto. With a tarp, some fluid film, and then a snow cover for the winter they are pretty well protected. I am building an equipment storage building however, and then the more expensive ones will move inside on pallets. My tractor follows me south for the winter for the moment, and is well cared for year around (but outside).

Terry

Thx for sharing your pictures of your trolleys for the implements. It's brilliant!

You're welcome, ZAR2,

There are photos of similar approaches by other members in other threads here. I find them to be a huge help on two fronts. They make attaching implements easy - I just have to back up close enough so the dollies can stay on the concrete and it's easy to move the tool for attaching (the chipper is a bit heavy, but I can move it).

The other is one never has enough storage space for all the toys. You might notice in the photo of the rear blade that the tiller is behind it. I used to have to hook the blade up and move it, then unhook, to mount the tiller. Now I just roll it to the side. Smaller attachments, like the leaf vac, now slide into small spots between other implements but are still easy to get out.

Colorado's climate is forgiving on metal, corrosion isn't much of an issue, but the sun does bake tires and other rubber components.

I keep everything in a storage shed 40'x60' with gravel floor on the farm.
I put every thing on skids I built, so can move things around with the forks as needed.
I also store my 36' travel trailer in there for winter.
The small stuff is stored at home in a 20'x24' shed...full tight, even some on the rafters.
It's unbelievable the amount of stuff needed to work effectively in the forest !

Most of mine are outside. Here are the ones on dollies stored in the shop.

Like many - I have very limited "under cover" storage. So only my rotational &/or hydraulic attachments are under cover. The remainder have any cutting edge coated in grease and are out in the wx year-round.

So far I keep all my attachments in my barn but at some point I'll run out of room. I'm in the process of building wheeled carts similar to those shown and it really helps make a smaller storage footprint as well as make it easier to hook up.

Mine are inside.
