Yeah I watched the video again and in the beginning of the video it says it's a ford event. They didn't get the best competition they could. I did some looking in the web and the Rams are much faster than the times they posted for it. I'm sure the Chevys are too. One board I was looking at said the 6.2 turned a 9.4 1/8th mile stock. The ram 8 speed with 3.92 turned a 9.1 1/8th mile stock. I seen where most guys have seen almost a second difference between the 8 speed 3.92 gears and the 6 speed 3.21 gears. Also they were launching the ram wrong if you stall it above 1,000 rpm or stall it more than a few seconds the computer starts taking timing away. They were told by the ford guys there how to launch the fords for the best times. Went in a little rant there but what I'm really trying to say if you're going to do a test event like this don't be SCARED. Test your latest and greatest against the competitions latest and greatest too.

Done a little more looking online. From what I've dug up on other forums so far best stock 1/4 mile EcoBoost 14.6 best stock 5.7 ram 8 speed 3.92 gears 14.1 looks like the ford isn't the fastest kid on the block. Like I said theses ford sponsored media events are not using the best their competitors have. If you're going to do it do it right don't be scared ford. I would respect ford a lot more if they said well we were not the fastest or the slowest but we have these advantages (xyz) that makes us think our truck is better. Not falsely claiming their truck is best at everything.

Haha, thanks for that link. I was going by memory and hoped I had the numbers close. But the 'billions dropping to millions' has stuck in my mind over the years. And when building/ordering one a couple years ago, I could attest to the endless possible combos.

I've also seen low 14 second times listed for stock rams with the 8 speed and 3.92 gears. Just a few cheap mods will get you in the 13's.

Stock for stock the ecoboost is slightly quicker off the line, but the Hemi will pace it after that. Once custom tunes are involved, the Hemi's will run into the high 13's and the ecoboosts low 13's. However, you would never hook a trailer to an ecoboost after it's been tuned. That would pretty much be instant death to the boosted motor.

I imagine the Ecoboost is pretty much limited on how high you want to go on boost. I bet with some drag radials and just a tune it might even get in the 12's but I'm not sure how long it would last at those power levels.

Not sure how accurate it is but according to my Phone my 2012 Super Crew Ecoboost FX4 3.73 gears ran 13.6 on Goodyear Wrangler Dura Tracs, which is E load Range LT tire that is as close to a MT tire as you can get in a AT tire. Done in July with wheel spin in each gear.

14.3 was the quickest stock EB I saw documented, and it was the large SuperCrew. As to towing with a tune, there are plenty of guys who have done it for years (but I know it can be dangerous with some tunes).

I have an app on my phone that measures this-it was a full second off. That would give you a 14.6, which if your truck is stock, is right on.

No problem. I remembered reading that FACT before and it is evident when you see all the combinations offered. I'm still unsure why I am being questioned by the trolls for facts and figures that I report but I'm sure they will come back for more whoopings. . Lol

Now the fx4 and fx2 packages are add on's to actual packages which should offer even more flexibility. I would kill for the 360 camera view. The backup camera was a dream and can imagine having a perimeter view. I would also probably spring for the panoramic roof. The smaller sunroof I couldn't justify.
