Must remove the hitch?

Maybe you should put hitches on all 4 sides of your vehicle?

Chris

I'll admit that it is somewhat odd - essentially a bumper to protect my bumper. If I could easily put one on the front, I'd be tempted to do so.

I was joking but they do make front hitches for most Trucks and SUV'S. Go to E trailer. Com and take a look.

Years ago had a 1961 4WD Chevy with a trailer hitch clamped on the front bumper, for parking boat trailers it was a dream. I ran my shin into that almost every time I checked the oil.

"I should put a yellow tennis ball on it for better visibility."

If you glue them over your entire vehicle, they will protect it against door dings, hail damage, and you won't have to wash the vehicle any more.

Front bumper hitches are nice, but it's really hard to drive down the road backwards when towing!!!!!

My 20' deckover is what I tow most...it takes a pintle hitch that weighs about 40 lbs. It doesn't come out unless it has to... no reason to walk close enough to my truck to hit it with your shin.

I would pay extra for a rubberized heavy duty bumper and only then would I remove my drawbar. I had a hit and run this summer that would've done a lot more damage to my tailgate if I hadn't had in my drawbar. Still had to buy a new plastic bumper top and a little paint work but it would have been worse otherwise.

Had a "genius" dart across traffic into the space between the back of my truck and the car following T-boning my car trailer right on the axles. Person backed up and ran the other way. Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder.

For reasons like yours and mine, I am considering dash cams for my vehicles. I would like to hard wire them to record a two day repeating loop. Need a forward facing and rearward facing on each vehicle. I think they may pay for themselves in the long run.

I usually find the ones most upset about others complaining, are the ones that complain about others the most.

I have two things I'd like to say:
1) anybody close enough to my vehicle to hit my hitch is TOO CLOSE.
2) most of you (I think) are discussing truck hitches. On my minivan I have to lie on the ground to remove the (locked) hitch pin. NOT fun in the cold, rain, mud, dirt, gravel, parking lots with cars trying to run over my legs, etc.

When I was a kid had a goose lab that was very loyal and very protective of the truck when I left it parked with him in the back. Never had to worry about the beer diss appearing out of my cooler when he was around! To made me think about that when you said to close! LUTT

Ok, I will confirm that we have discussed this before.

I am one of the 'offenders' and ride around with a weight distribution hitch hanging off the back.

I also take up part of the parking space behind be when I park.

Twice I have had co workers back into the front of my Tundra.

I guess I could drive a Smart car, nah, the hitch would overload it.
