Sure wish I could grow 100,000 lbs of sweet potatoes on 5 acres. That's 20,000lbs per acre. Seems like a case of bad fact-checking to me. Still, though, great story. Awesome to see him driving around an old tractor, not some shiny new machine.

Nice story but in reality he is not a farmer as he isn't making his living that way. He has a nice hobby though and I'm jealous that I will never be in that good a situation.

It's interesting you say that. We had a long conversation on another thread about what qualifies one to be a "farmer". I would punt I out that many of America's farmers work at other jobs off the farm, and so don't " make their living" farming. Not entirely at least. IRS schedule F is a statement of profit or loss. Lots of farmers reporting both ways.
