Good morning!!!!

36F and partly cloudy @ 04:00 ...

Just came down from the shop to have a little snack ... my second bowl of Bert's Chili from Waffle House :D

Got the wheelbarrow moved up to the shed and the rebar cage welded onto the ballast block 3PH frame and reinforced.

Might go ahead and see if I can take a little nap ... supposed to be nice today (but chilly) ... probably a good day to finish up collecting up the leaves.

RS, you are eating chili at 4am and then you want to take a nap?
boy your stomach must be pretty cast iron...

41 degrees out, going up only into fifties today, cold as everywhere else and going down tonight.
Need to start thinking about what has water in it...have learned to keep my powerwasher in the heated garage no matter what. One exploded pump taught me that.

made a fire in the fireplace last night and read a book in my recliner. A fine quiet Saturday night, after I had prepared some nice NC backfin crab crabcakes for dinner. Had bought the crab to make for my guests this past week but we had something else so I thought I needed to eat it right away. Turns out the can says March of next year, must be pasteurized. Unfortunately one of the two tins was bad, smelled way stronger than the other one. Hard to throw that pricey stuff in the trash. I washed the can out; think I'll take it back to Food Lion and get them to give me another one. Twelve bucks is too much to waste.

Well, up an hour "early" this morning. Oh well, today I clean out the entire kitchen as the men with crow bars and sawzalls come in tomorrow to start ripping out the pine floors throughout about a third of the downstairs. I need to keep myself outside, the mess will drive me nuts. Going to get them to shut the doors and then put plastic over the openings. All kinds of mold on the bottom of these boards; not what I want flying everywhere.

On the other end of the house the drywall guys come back to finish their job in the bathroom, and that will create clouds of sheetrock dust. But by the end of this week, all the seriously messy stuff that needs to get done to this house will be finished. Yeah. Then slowly it gets put together. Maybe by Christmas. What shall be shall be.

good thing I bought a case of Shopvac filters. That drywall dust is sure a clogger. Luckily there is an outside door in that room so I can take the filter out and bang it on the dumpster and get it to work again for awhile. I bought a cheap Sears vac just to ruin on this job. No way my nice Fein vac is getting anywhere near this mess....

42 and about to blow away here. Wind chimes are earning there keep this morning. Wind is making so much noise, our dog thought it was an intruder and got me fully awake. Should get to 50 today, and gusts are predicted to 30.

What are we all doing up at 4:30?

Time to go fill my coffee mug.

Drew, definitely get your crab money back. You might could work on your ditch crossing while banished from the house.

David, you are mighty calm about the lady intruder. She must have been good looking. :)

on the topic of safety...
I ordered a nice Yale electronic deadbolt for my front door last night, plus normal deadbolts for every door on this house, which has few. A real security sieve actually. But the idea of someone getting into my home without making a lot of noise gives me the willies. While I have a modern alarm system, I don't turn it on at night.

Probably why I need a big lovable dog.
If I started a new thread of what kind of dog to get, so many pics of loved dogs would come in the server would crash. So not here, but it's on my mind.
Gets a bit lonely some nights.
It's been a year this month and I am oh so not ready to venture out.
The scab on the hole in my heart needs more time.
But a dog, well....
no cats.
hmmm, have a two horse barn, maybe an Alpaca some day?

Drinking last cup of coffee. 20°with clear skies this morning. Heading to 47° with lots of sun today. IMHO we should be a on Daylight Savings year around. Spent yesterday afternoon and this morning getting iPhone's swapped around. Still need to get Bluetooth items paired. Nothing like the 6. Younger members of family had to have their 6's. We got the hand me downs.
Drew, my son showed me how to help control dust from drywall. Get a furnace filter that fits size of a standalone fan. Tape filter to fan inlet or outlet. Turn fan on low. Amazing how much dust is collected on the filter. Still need to tape up doors.
sodamo, weird people out there. Be careful.
Buppies, your weather forecasters need to give us some good weather end of the month when we start our winter migration trip to the southwest.
Good Morning All.

33 right now...the high...well, we won't see 40 today.
Yesterday was a bit of a write off for outdoor work. I did get out and about for a bit of shopping...including a bottle of Sta-Bil.
No rain in the forecast today, so maybe I'll get that back yard mowed one last time.

great idea Ron. I have an old beater box fan in the garage; will need to investigate, going to Lowes later anyway. Would be nice if they used a big vac on their sanders...

reminds me, I have half the bedroom stuffed with boxes, my bed, and they are going to be sanding in there. Time to tape the plastic down on stuff I guess. I really don't want drywall dust on my suits, which are in those hanging boxes the movers give you. But I bet those boxes have some holes in them... Maybe get another huge tarp today and put it over everything. Belt and suspenders. A layer of plastic and a tarp. And Ron's exhaust fan cleaner-upper. Good thing there are two windows in the bathroom and walk in closet, and an exterior door across the other side, so if there is a breeze, some of the dust naturally vents. Hope it heads out the windows to the lawn versus the door to my porch.

Roy, hope your foot is better. Limbo classes start Monday.

33F this morning, that's about where the temp is going to stay today. Windy winter storm warning posted for this afternoon. Could get several inches of snow which will all melt tomorrow. The ground isn't even close to being frozen.

Very strange lady Sodamo. My guess is clever squatter. Sounds like she is a long ways from anywhere, on foot, not packing much, so probably looking for a squat.

I've been using Sta-Bil for several years now and it seems to work. I run my carbs dry, drain the 2-cycle tanks, etc. but the gas in the can stays fresh for months apparently. Everything starts and runs. The marine Sta-Bil is supposed to be the better one.

Drew, good luck with your dust. HEPA filters and wet mopping eventually gets it cleaned up. I'm sure you need a dog. :D Not necessarily a big, large breed dog though. Everything about big dogs is, well, big. From the size of the burned 1 qt. pee spots in your lawn to where they fit in the car--or not. It can be difficult for large breeds to get into something like your truck cab, especially as they get older.

I love Bella, our spoiled rotten Boxer...but if we ever get another dog, it'll be a french bulldog or a Boston terrier. Smaller dogs are a bit easier to maintain, and, as far as Boxers...we (wife and I) are a bit too old for such an active dog.
