I found a brand new Kubota weight bracket with 3# 55lb suitcase weights on CL the other day and I had just the idea in mind. I had a bracket made up and welded to my Omni 3 point receiver hitch to bolt the weight bracket to. If I ever wanted to hang weights on the front, it'll unbolt and mount. Kinda simple but it works out perfect.

I wanted to try out the loader function with weights attached and picked up the close to the biggest rock the little BX could lift and boy what a difference.

I still need to get some 5/8" all thread to bolt the weight pack together, but I couldn't wait to try it out.

Happy,

Nice job on the set up.:cool2: Don't be surprised at how much the BX can pick up. IF it can't pick it up, it CAN push or pull the rocks around. Check out the pic's I took after getting MY rock project done.

For reference, the chain link fence is 5 feet tall. 3 of the rocks weigh OVER 1,000 lbs. BX couldn't lift them, but did a GREAT job of pushing them around. :dance1:

If you like YOUR BX as much as I like MINE, you sill have it around for a long time. :2cents:

Thanks. I love the little BX, it's a work horse for sure. I'm thrilled with the weight bracket set up.

Nice build. No doubt, rear weight is critical, both for safety and performance.

I'm still scratching my head wondering why I didn't add rear weight sooner. I guess where I have bigger tractors for most of the work, I just never bothered on the BX. My larger tractors have weight depending on usage. Sure glad I did though.

Looks like a pretty nice setup. Are you sure you want to bolt them together? From this angle it looks like you may want to remove the weights when you use the receiver hitch to tow something, and it will be a lot easier on the back to remove 3 55lb weights then it will to remove one 165lb weight. Even more so to put it back on.

If you are trying to stop them from rattling around, a cheapo quick grip clamp might do the job and still be quick to put on and off. Just cut the bar to the right length so you don't chew up your shins all the time when you are walking round the tractor.

Thanks. It's only a single 5/8 x 6" bolt holding the weights together, pretty quick to take out. I really don't tow too much anymore with the BX though.

I must have hunting on the brain.

I clicked on the thread thinking it said, "Customized rear sights for my Kubota BX", and wondered when Kubota got into the firearms business.
