Texas Fall/Winter thread!

We will see you on the fourth of December. Now if we can get Kyle and family (the kids can play pool while we wait for the burgers) to join us we can reserve the Texas table.

edit: you posted while I was typing Kyle, It's non-smoking now, even the bar and pool areas. They still serve all the beers including 12 types of keg beer. Lot's of families were there and the ice house feel is still there but the cliental has changed.


Charlie, it seems like Mineola (is that a mining town in Spanish) has skipped one hamburger joint in it's progression. It's usually a Dairy Queen, McDonald's, Sonics, Whataburger, Wendy's, Jack-in -the -box.

Wood County is a little behind the Times(I guess that's why we like it.), but we do have 2 McDonalds, no Wendy's or Jack-in-the-box. Amazingly the best burger in the county Cajun crawfish joint up on a hill, I think the name is "The Hill ". And it is a shack but great food.

I wondered if we were talking about the same thing with "Roadhouse" and "Texas Roadhouse" but erroneously concluded that we were.:laughing: And yes the free peanuts and good food were trumped by the noise, so that's the reason we haven't been to the Texas Roadhouse in quite awhile.

Looks very good foreman. When I was a child in the 70's we had a feed store in West Dallas. Lots of good memories.

WOW! two McDonald's in one county, you are one ahead of us. We are lacking the Wendy's and Jack in the box also and the Roadhouse is in the next county. We do however have two Subways.

Foreman it looks like it's time for a ribbon cutting ceremony and to get the picture in the local newspaper for free advertisement. Nice sign!

I don't remember the paint it has large glass garage doors. It is not on 290. It is on old Hwy. 21 close to the RR underpass on HWY. 21. It's not really in Paige town it's further West in-between WhoopStop and Hwy 290.

The other Ice House on Main and 20 is still there also and had a lot of trucks out front. The smokers probably moved from Woody's/Roadhouse to the main street Ice House.
