55 degrees going up to 75 today, perfect Fall weather as others have said. Did a fast mow job at dinner time last night as bank appraiser is coming this morning to appraise for a home equity line. If I'm going to get my dream barn/workshop built, going to need a little help... should be an interesting appraisal considering the interior disaster of the home, bathroom gutted, kitchen clearly needing work, boxes everywhere. Oh well, outside is starting to look just fine though. Powerwashing crew that did my home came back yesterday and did all that white plastic horse fencing. It was covered with green mold and looked pretty rattty. Now it looks like new. They use a serious amount of bleach; I could smell it from far away. But they are pros; they know more chemicals and less psi is the trick to cleaning without wrecking things with a powerful powerwasher. They also have heated water which should help some.
Yesterday was a busy but good day. Local carpenter came and put new metal roofs on the little garden shed and the tiny tool shed behind the propane tank. The latter was almost falling down. He put a new door on it, made from scratch, and replaced the roof supports which were totally rotten. Two roofs, a rebuild and a new door for 800 bucks. Now this local pricing I like...
So the outside is now presentable and at least does not look uncared for. Wish I could say the same for the inside. To all who are painting, wallpapering, carpeting, boy, sure is work huh guys?
New bed for the guest bedroom arrived yesterday. They could not make the turn up the hidden stairway to the second floor due to the chair lift, which we could not figure out how to dissasemble.
so back they went to get a four inch lower box spring. That did not fit either, frustrated but amazingly pleasant guys..., so back they went again, to special order a special two piece queen box spring. Since my sister said she was willing to sleep on the floor (like I would let her...) at least I have a nice innerspring mattress for her. Now where are the sheets.
I read my planting instructions again and it said to wait for the apple/fruit trees to go dormant before planting; i.e. losing their leaves, and they are doing that nicely now, all ten of them lined up ready to plant. Once the bank lady leaves, back into my blue jeans and call the neighbor to come over and help me get the phd put on. Johnny Appleseed is about to make an appearance.
have a great Friday.
