50F and mostly clear @ 07:45 ... headed up to a high of 61 ... I'll bet we beat it.
Went down yesterday afternoon to clean out that chimney pipe and found some glowing embers still goin' in the wood furnace ... so while waiting for them to burn out I started cleaning up that room which was full of junk thrown in boxes. Lotsa stuff piled up on the floor ... despite the fact that room has all sorts of storage shelves ...
Found all sorts of treasures ... my pop rivet gun, hot glue gun, Grandpa's old soldering iron (which is gigantic) and hand brace (drill) ... all sorts of tools ... most of which had been chucked into Grandpa's old tool box ... along with a bunch of casters and other hardware ... because, you know: tools and hardware - they belong together ...
My little pumpkin got home from work and after interrogating me as to whether or not I was properly equipped to be undertaking any cleaning activities (
Do you have the vacuum hose ? ... check ...
the floor brush ? ... check ...
The round brush ? ... check ...
bucket with cleaning solution ? ... check ...) announced that she herself had been thinking that with all the nasty, rainy weather that she might be inclined to do some housecleaning along these lines ...
if she hadn't been at work all day, of course ...
At that point I just laughed ... and told her if she was feeling frisky to come on down ...
And she did bless her little heart ...
We worked for several hours until she had to go to bed and really got a lot done ... to the point that it actually might possible to find something if you needed to ...
That's the good news ...
The bad news is that quart of acetone I spent $8 on at Home Depot a week or so ago ? ... well, I found another full,
unopened quart in the basement.
Also I've rounded up another crap load of fasteners/hardware/small parts that all have to sorted out and put away.
Today I'll snag the round chimney brush from up at the shop and get that chimney pipe cleaned ... since the fire is now out. But first I gotta cut some plate.
