Kubota 200 hr service

I have 2011 L3540 and have a question about the 200hr service. In the manual it says to change the HST filter at 200 hours. At 400 hours it says to change the hydraulic filter and the fluid. It doesn't say to change the fluid at 200 hours. Do I drain the fluid and reuse it at 200hrs?

I can't comment on your specific machine, but you should not have to drain the oil for a HST filter change. You will lose some oil when you change the filter, but you just need to top off the oil following the filter change.

What Steve said, we only lose a small amount when changing filters. Just have everything laid out and ready to go, so it won't take long to do the switch.

I know the manual says to drain it, but we never have.

No we never have needed to use that method or tilting it either on the GL, now on our M8540 the fluid sure gushes out, so we may need to when we do our next change out.

I don't think someone gave a lot of thought to draining oil and then reuse it to much of a chance for something to get in oil. hydraulics keeping it clean is the best bet.

I forgot to include it does say to drain the oil. The 400 hour says to replace it. Do I reuse the oil? Seems a transmission oil change every 200 seems excessive.

Yes, it says to drain the oil, but we've owned an L30 and now L40 and did not drain it, we just pulled the filter and quickly replaced it. I too was concerned with contamination and it just seemed like unnecessary work. We only change transmission fluid very 400 hours.
