I remember a comment Archie Bunker made once. He said "A goldfish is the perfect pet because long before you get tired of it, it dies anyway.

I guess this only applies to goldfish and not saltwater percula clown fish like Nemo. I got my pair (Harold & Maude) 35 years ago and now they are the oldest known living clown fish in the world.

Wow....35 years......that's a long time......how long do they normally live??.

if you read the link George is expected to live another 25 years and he is already 10 and since the average life span of Koi is 25 to 35 (some live to be 200) this could be a valuable carp

goldfish / koi, they live to bloody long, as long as you take care of the water and them. $200 vet bill BEH, some folks have ponds and filters that cost as much as if not more than many folks tractors here on the forum. $200 buck vet bill is chump change repair/maintenance work. perhaps an oil change and new set of filters for tractor.

Most people who buy saltwater fish have them less than a month before they die because saltwater fish are much more difficult to keep than freshwater ones. No one knows how long they live because mine are the oldest known surviving ones so far.
Just google "oldest known clown fish" to see more about mine.
