I've never been a fan, but Stihl pro saws are still good saws. The big negative is all the new model have gained weight and bulk. This is where Husqvarna pulled ahead of the pack, plus faster cutting speed...

Where did you buy? Good price? What size bar? I've been thinking of getting one with 20" bar, though admittedly it will be a toy as I already have more saws than I need.

LOL, Hey I have that turd!

Actually, I did have some initial doubt when I got it, but the more I have used it the more impressed I am. I read the new strato engines need to have x amount of fuel run through them to attain full power and that does seem to be true. A good bar and sharp chain always seem to be the big part of the equation no matter the brand. It replaced an 031av I was quite happy with and an old 041 that belonged to my dad. I did fuel up the 041 a year or so ago and it started first pull, but w/o anti vibe...no thanks for the hand cramping. For my use I am sure I would have been just as happy with a Husky, but I I was familiar with Stihls and have extra chain, bars, etc.

Enjoy your new saw!

This seemed like an ok comparison but I think it would have been better with a 20" rather than 25" bar:

I have the XP 550 digital, or autotune, whatever they want to call it.. very happy with it.. I had it a month and then did the muffler mod after extensive research on arbor forum. It made it snappier off the bottom, and opened up the top end.. Surprisingly, it did not make it much louder.. and I was able to keep the spark arrester.. of course you'll void the warranty.. if they ever see it that is....!

Bluegill has a 562 and did this mod with good results, and claimed it felt like a 20% boost..

This one replaced my 51 from 1993, which also runs like a top, but technology has advanced and so have I..

I looked at the stihls, prior to purchase, as I am not loyal to any manufacturer feeling that in itself could be a limit... I was not impressed with the feedback by loyal stihl owners, and I also did not like the balance nor ergonomics of the stihls.

I was very tempted to get one. After visiting Husqvarna's site & reading the reviews on this saw & others, I was put off by the number of comments about starting problems. I ended up ordering a MS362 C-M.

After 24 years? of use with my Stihl 034 (still running) I went down and bought the 362 CM day before yesterday, so far I have cut up for fire wood, (3) 24-27 inch hemlocks using a 20 inch bar off my 034 I also used the 24 inch bar that came with it for a few cuts but decided to break in in with the 20 inch bar, anyway this is the best saw I have ever used cutting firewood with, of course this is from someone coming off the 034. All of a sudden cutting firewood is fun again. Also this saw pull starts just as easy as my MS180 and I haven't even used the decompression valve yet, no need to as far as I can see.

Well you're a bad influence! I grabbed on with 20" bar for $650. Haven't run it yet, but am looking forward to it.

This will be the first Husky I own, though I have used many of them over the years. My other saws are an Echo CS-330T (top handle tree saw), Echo CS-400, Stihl MS-261, and Stihl MS-461. Plus a bunch of antiques and relics I won't list.

I will say that I don't like the chain tensioner built into the clutch cover on the 562, as I have found those a PITA to deal with on the job out in the woods. Echo uses that as well. And the captive bar nuts on the 562 are a travesty compared to the cleaner Stihl design on the 261 and others. But otherwise the 562 is a nicely made saw and feels very good in the hand. I'm also not a fan of outboard clutches, but have to admit it helps keep the powerhead a lot narrower and more balanced feeling, no question about it.
