Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 76˚ heading to the high nineties, cloudless skies. We had a brief .4" shower yesterday so I will mow the high spots this morning while the dust is settled.

Drew, I would never trust him after that lie. He could have easily said he does, but he has learned his lesson and wants to prove he is a different responsible person now.
If you want to hear more lies just ask him besides the information you easily found what else has he done.
If you want to take the time to rehabilitate him - good luck with that, just make sure you you can verify every answer.

I would be thinking security cameras, and motion detectors.

Where is the TBN Monthly Newsletter located, wngsprd said our lift thread is in it?

56 again, and heading hotter today, 87. Working outside was great yesterday, will try to get more done today - more painting and bush hogging.

Drew, Brin makes a good point, but also, having a new baby can straighten up a man. He seems responsible and eager in your dealings so far - tell him. Then ask him if he's been in trouble with the law in any way, and how important honesty is. If you get a real response, build trust.

But still a good idea to keep an eye on him and get that security system installed.

I am thinking in this direction too. If, from your dealings so far, think he is worth the effort.

I tend to be very upfront with people. I would probably just say "I did some checking and have found out that you weren't entirely honest with me about your police record." Then ask him "Why?" See what sort of reaction you get. An honest answer would be something to the effect that he was afraid you wouldn't want him around. Or, "I realize that was a mistake now and I'm sorry about that."

"Weren't entirely honest" is different, less condemning and confrontational, than saying, "I discovered you are a thief and an liar." :)

A seemingly honest answer doesn't mean you aren't getting "conned" but, it would tend to giving him a second chance. If you want a project and think there is a good person in there, then maybe you are the responsible adult that can lead him in a good direction. On the other hand, he could be the neighborhood bad seed, always has been, and you are the only person who doesn't know that. I'm sure you have the chops to figure it out.

68F and .31 inches rain last 24 hours.

Off to my cardiologist consult. No idea what to expect. EKG? Stress Test? Guess maybe I should have asked. This was suggested by my Primary Care as I've never had one. I did have EKG prior to my knee replacements and I did have a stress test maybe 12 years ago by my old PC in Atlanta.

Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, I like Dave's approach. Direct without being confrontational. To question him while pretending you don't know is dishonest (and a lie) as well.
We all need another chance at some point, sometimes we are smart enough and take it. I think you could be the influence he needs.

Good morning all. Currently 89F going to 92F (hi 100F+). Dew point still 72, hoping it would back off. Got my ride in now at work dotting "t's" and crossing "i's" :) Still trying to clean up house so we can list it. Going to TX this weekend to visit family and house hunt.

Good Afternoon. 1225, sunny, 89F with 48% humidity. Forecast high of 92F today and a low of 68F tonight. But starting Friday we have thunderstorms forecast for just about a full week.

The election went well. The best part, the number of signs beside the roads should be reduced by at least half:thumbsup:

Drew, the kid might be honest the rest of his life, but you can't cure stupid. Tread softly, even if you think he has turned over a new leaf.

We have hired our cleaning lady's sister to clean Mamma's house. Today is her first day, so I have to deal with her. Have I ever mentioned I am just a touch antisocial and don't like dealing with 'new' people? Oh well, it has to be done, and I'm sure she will turn out to be a nice lady.

Everyone have a good day.

It's a email that I get monthly from TBN. I believe it is a setting under MY HOME. Messaging & Notification.

I still cannot find Messaging & Notifications under MY HOME or anything that leads to it. ????

84F @ 15:00 and partly sunny ... it's probably still pretty humid out there.

Got the components for the upper jaw of the grapple fabbed up last night and dry-fitted ...

IMG_1443.jpg

The rake teeth and cutters for the bottom jaw are all cut ... now that their length is fixed and known, I'll start cutting the 1/4" x 4" steel for the gussets that brace them.

Picked up one of those router speed control boxes yesterday at Harbor Freight that JJ has been promoting ... they were on sale for $20 and I figured that would probably be cheaper than whatever Sears wanted to fix the speed control on the 1/2" drill. Tested the drill with it and it works great.

Also tore the front gearbox off the drill and had a peek at that ... I think what I thought was bearing noise is the same thing I had going on with the Milwaukee angle grinder and Sawzall: lack of grease on the gears. Will clean that out and repack it later today.

Found another gallon of muriatic acid in the garage yesterday ... it's even older than the one I used initially ... and I don't think it's the "safe" type ... the plastic jug is actually bubbled up in spots and deformed ... will throw that into the dip container. Left the pulleys soaking overnight ... need to go check them in a few minutes ... hopefully all the old paint is stripped ... and the bores aren't too oversized ... :D

Completed the de-rusting and clean up of the 90 degree welding clamp:

Then found it a new home:

Today I need to replace the load center in the shop ... although it's a 100 amp panel it only has spaces for 4 breakers ... just not enough for current needs.

Will try to get the old dump cart bed frame moved inside later today so I can start cutting it up ... not looking forward to that task.

Drew,

You have a project there ... one that is worthy. Never underestimate your ability to make a difference in this world.
