Our Mrs red bird is quite vocal seems to boss around the male. While raining Sunday morning she was really raising sand with him. The yellow finches are quite numerous as well this year and the males are beautiful and very yellow. Bird watching at the kitchen table very relaxing with all the different birds that come to eat

58F headed to upper 80's and clear sky again today.

The digital alarm clock decided on its own to go off this morning for 4-5 beeps and then turned itself off too. It's possessed. I think I will set it a less obnoxious time, like noon.

Be safe.

rswyan, someplace here on TBN I have pictures of the grapple I built for my B2910.
Ron,

Thanks ... I'll poke around and see if I can find anything and have a look.

Great tool for hauling logs and yard cleanup.
That's my primary intended use ... have a lot of brush and fallen trees and branches that needs picked up and relocated ... as well as a bunch of logs that I need to cut up for firewood.

But not much for grubbing out shrubs. Need a bigger tractor for that.
Yeah ... the B2910 is pretty light as far doing that type of stuff I would think.

Though I do have probably 600'+ of fence line that is overgrown that I'm hoping to clear ...

I guess the biggest thing will be how far out the nearby tree roots extend into the area I need to clear. This area was cleared to about 15' from the fence on my side by the neighbor when he installed the fence originally (15+ years ago ?) ... got the other neighbor to come in with his mini-ex and little dozer pop out all the stumps ... it has since grown up considerably.

He was keeping it mowed and sprayed (on my side) ... but when he sold the property the new owner did not keep it up and the jungle is taking over ... the shrubs and brush are probably the height of my head (or more) when sitting on the B2910.

The one I'm building is modeled after the WR Long RGB series ... but with some modifications (larger cylinders for one) ...

This is a picture of the "RGB-48" that TBN member NHBotanut has on his B7610, which is the model I'm using as an design example/template:

WR Long RGB 48 Grapple.jpg

I'm using 1/2" x 3" bar stock for the bottom rake teeth, with 1/4" plate for gussets, welded to 3" x 2" x 1/4 wall rectangular tube as a cross bar ... even so, I'd consider it a pretty light duty grapple. Not planning on trying to go wild with it, as far as ripping stuff out of the ground ... the B2910 just doesn't have enough *** for that, and the stresses on the loader could be pretty significant I would think.

wngsprd, my OEM battery lasted 12 years. Replaced it with a new Kubota battery. It was expensive. But if it last as long as the original. It is a good deal.
I got about the same out of my original battery ... replaced it with one from Autozone ... we'll see how that goes ...

Hilarious ...

Obvious parallels to the human world.

I can imagine ...

It's kinda like watching fish in an aquarium ... I could sit and watch either one for hours on end.

I used to have a breeding pair of these (Green Terror Cichlids) in a 55 ... they were just fascinating to watch ... customizing and setting up the tank to their liking, courting, breeding, and raising their young.

Good morning, 71 this morning on the way to 91. It is good to be home this morning after our trip to my brothers in Indiana. I was concerned driving 1000 miles with a truck that had been mostly sitting for the last 4 years towing a car dolly I bought on C list once I got there but it all went well.
Last night my son told me we are almost out of cow feed so I will be heading to the mill for a ton of all natural feed today if they have an opening.

Good morning! The sun's heat lasted overnight - 80˚ before sunrise heading to WHAT!!! - I just flipped over to todays hour by hour weather and a cold front is headed this way in an hour! Todays high only 97˚ and tomorrow morning's low will be 76˚ - time to break out the winter clothes. Whoo Hoo!

Rswyan, be sure to link us to your grapple build. Your grapple's main purpose of picking up sticks is a bit different than my grubber raker. I still have one issue with mine when I run across an occasional smaller Youpon with a deep tap root - like running fingers through hair. I don't want to add a cross bar along the front because I need to be able to dig deep for the big root balls but I could use a sharp cross bar between one set of teeth to use as the cutting section.

Thanks for the battery ideas. I stopped by the Kubota dealer yesterday for an oil filter, but didn't think about pricing a battery. I've had great service from Kirkland batteries (Costco) in our vehicles, but not sure if they carry what fits the tractor. I guess it's not too early to check into options, as long as my current battery doesn't find out about it.

RoMad, glad you made it home safely from Kokomo (great name) - that's a long trip.

71 and foggy here headed to 92.

When it come to batteries I like the NAPA batteries. Seem to have good luck with them in the generator. Then that battery goes into equipment the geny always gets the new one.
