Looks like it's got an insulating kit on the one side. You'll need a different grease gun if you want loosen it up and get proper sealing.

I think I would use it as a base for a backyard fire pit or BBQ.

Since it doesn't eat, or produce manure, i would set it aside in the weeds and at some point in the future it will come in handy for something.

EDITED TO ADD: Just don't forget it is in the weeds when brush hogging...

I also vote mailbox post - sandblast, paint, and definitely some big warning stickers :)

I also vote for mailbox post, with fresh paint & w/out warning stickers maybe 'free gas' & see who stops to look it over. Next car-full of kids goes down your road with a baseball bat smashing mailboxes ....

Then again, around here, someone might steal it & scrap it. That said, they're cracking down on the manhole cover thingie .. Might cost its weight in fuel to take it to the recycler.

In all honesty I'd pro'ly let it roast 'til the best idea is for certain. Perfect teaser title for that, & it ought to be good for a few more pages within days if we keep 'bumping' it. Let's at least have a fun weekend with it!

Boat anchor was also my suggestion, but if you filled it full of concrete it might also be heavy enough to make a nice tractor weight/ballast.

I would haul it away before someone runs into it.

Add a 4' pipe extension to the one end and bury it a couple feet deep. Mount a BBQ grill to the other, now upright, end. Add a dramatic wheel to the valve stem that you can spin freely. Add some warning stickers about "high pressure gas" and "Explosion". Then have fun at your next BBQ when you give the wheel a good spin, tell people to stand back, and light the grill.

I agree with the part about in the future it will come in handy for something. In my case I know exactly what that would be, tear up the rotary cutter when I ran over it hiding in the weeds.

Take the part to the left off... Then add some old wagon wheels to the sides... Then add a big pipe to the center to look like a cannon use it as yard art... Or sale it as yard art...

Carefully store it somewhere so that when I found a use for it I would be unable to find it and have to go buy one just like everything else I will need someday.

looks like 3" pipe and the flanges look like either 600# or 900#.
They are at least 600 since they are 8 bolt. A 300# flange would be 4 bolt IIRC.

That means (to me) they are not wide or heavy enough to serve as a stable base
for a bench grinder or other tool. They look like rasied face flanges to boot.
Yesterday I measured another chunk of pipe that I have that was cut out when they removed the valve and took the line out of service.

FWIW, it's 4 1/2" O.D. and the pipe walls are 1/2" ...

Somebody mentioned wheel spacers......I went up a size on rear tires and thought I was going to have to space them to clear my FEL subframe. I made a set of spacers out of similar pipe flanges (I made short spools from heavy wall pipe and flanges and a set that was made from just flanges actually). Didn't have to use them after all to mount the wheels but will probably put them on someday to gain a little width.
