Lost some oil, is it possible new hoses I put on took it?

So spent the afternoon in a panick, trying to figure out why I am around 6 quarts low in my hyraulics.

Have looked everywhere, dry as a bone. run the tractor up, nothing.

It just dawned on me I built a new stump grinder. It has around 10ft of 3/4" hose. I am thinking this is where it disappeared to but want to make sure you guys concur.

How big was the cylinder and was it empty when you installed it ?

Just do a thorough check of your tractor before coming into conclusions. Do not rule out the possibility of a fuel leak.

Looks right, so that accounts for 1 out of the 6 missing quarts.

Hmmm. . Oil level has stayed high. No drop. Maybe my level was low before I changed the hoses but 6 is a lot (not for this tank as it holds a 10 gallons at least). Will continue to explore the issue.

You are losing fluid somewhere else.

Park it on a clean dry surface and check for leaks after running if for a while.
