Finished grading the red clay, it is not as high and steep now.

Loading and hauling topsoil from the pile in the pasture. 4.5 cubic yards per trip.

Went over the topsoil with the box blade, no pictures because it would look just like grading the red clay, except it would be topsoil. But it needed to be a little smoother and flatter in places, so I took a messed up panel from the scrap pile and turned it into a land plane!

Hung it from the stump bucket.

Using some down pressure, the suspension makes this work good.

Wow. You have some cool toys. I'm thinking of getting a 5610. found one with a snow blower that really looks like a good setup. Thanks for showing us how versatile it is.

Thanks and you're welcome.

Speaking of versatile, it's also a trash hauler.

Another thing I can do with the Toolcat is pull the trailer using the Omni Transformer 3 point hitch.

I love those tool cats. When you get a chance, could you give us the ocassional update on it?
This thread is overdue for an update, so here is a slight modification to prevent tree branches from knocking the lamps out of the rear work lights again.

Notice how high they are mounted.

Drilled holes in some aluminum strap, used a longer bolt and cut some tubing for spacers.
Now they are down out of harms way.

That's a great idea. I like simple solutions to problems. I need to do this as well. I almost broke one off with a tree branch again last week.

Happy Thanks!

Xfaxman, How's that new Toolcat performing? Is it exceeding expectations? Any downfalls? I see from your photos that you have a Bobcat skid steer. Do you still need both pieces of equipment? Thanks. OB.

Xfaxman, How's that new Toolcat performing?

Well the "new Toolcat" is over 3 years old and performing now just like when new.

Is it exceeding expectations?

My wife says yes, she really likes it.

Any downfalls?

Yes, one. It doesn't have the limited slip front differential that we ordered.

I see from your photos that you have a Bobcat skid steer.

Not my photos? I have a Bobcat V417 Versahandler.

Do you still need both pieces of equipment?

No, never did really "need" the Toolcat, she bought it to mow the pasture, so I could do other "Honey Do's". :D

Thanks. OB.

Thanks for asking. Did you get the 5600?

Here is the LINK to the V417 thread.

Xfaxman --- Thanks very much for your time. I hope you don't mind but I have two more questions:

I'm considering purchasing the ToolCat for mowing pastures and paths, post hole digging, moving a little earth, shavings, manure, grappling, etc, and my wife does the mowing work like yours. It would be nice for her to stay cool and out of the sun in the summers in SC. Is it a great machine for cab enclosed mowing? I'm thinking about the Bobcat 72" mower. Lastly, which machine covers a broader workload, the telehandler or ToolCat? Would the telehandler be an option for the work list I've noted? Cheers, OB

Yep, that is the main reason she got it.

which machine covers a broader workload, the telehandler or ToolCat?

The Toolcat has twice as many approved attachments.

Would the telehandler be an option for the work list I've noted?

It would do everything, but it is much heavier, a foot wider and doesn't have suspension.

For my needs I would keep the Versahandler if I could only have one machine.

I think the Toolcat would be better for you.

Good luck on your decision.

I just wanted to thank you again for your insight and advice.
I'll pursue the Toolcat but need to sell my CAT 247B first.
Cheers

Time for the occasional update, with some old pictures. :)

Hauled in some fill dirt with the dumper, to fill the hole made to level the area for the horse barn.

Used the V417 to spread and wheel pack it, but it needed to be smoother, so I put the 8' box blade on the 5' wide Toolcat:

Time for the occasional update, needed to move the bale ring and hay. Planned to lift the ring, take it to the pen and use the grapple to move the hay.

Then I remembered the 6' forks that I found on eBay last summer. Used a 8' 2x4 across the forks and under the ring.

Up up and away!

Sweet. I want one. I'm always using the forks and then the grapple. You've done it with one move. Well done.
