Good Morning, and Happy Summer Solstice. 1120, clear, 91F {heat index of 108} with 67% humidity. Forecast high of 94F with 44% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon, and a low of 74F tonight. I have a beauty pageant at work today. I have to lock all the other room to keep them from squatting to do their hair and makeup. It's young kids mostly, but a few teenagers. Later on there will be two night time birthday parties. Both of them black families, so I will eat good tonight.

I will leave long enough to go to the viewing, but can't make it to the funeral. The lady who died was Daddy's 1st cousin's wife. There aren't too many left of that generation on Daddy's side of the family. Only one of his brothers is still alive. Like Mamma, he is closer to 90 than to 80. Mamma does have a lot of 1st cousins still kicking, but she is the oldest.

Hope everyone has a good first day of summer. And it fell on a Saturday this year to boot. So like the commercial says, get out here and grill.

Last night I had black folks too. They served green beans with ham, yellow rice, fried chicken, chicken wings and baked chicken. But they also had a green salad, so I loaded up on salad, passed on the wings, and took small servings of everything else. The father from the family tonight is retired, but he used to cook for other parties, so you know they will do it up big. I'll be walking all afternoon, making a deposit to the calorie bank for later withdrawal

I bush hogged & started early this AM to avoid the heat...I love the smell of fresh cut grass & diesel in the morning...

So start contributing to the WFS thread instead of lurking....:laughing: 81 degrees here, was out mowing this morning then came in to work on the bathroom vanity project....will go back out and mow again later.
