PTO not engaging!

I have a mahindra 3016 manual shift 4x4 tractor- when you engage the PTO, the shaft doesnt turn. Its seems to be going into gear because you cant turn the shaft when you engage the pto. I have checked the fuse and its good . I was wondering could it be a pto solnoid switch . Any ideas???

I have no idea, but I have a 4010 that has the same problem. I was mowing and then...no grass was being cut. Red light is on showing that the PTO is engaged, fuses are ok, but nothing is turning.

Yep thats exactly what mine is doing . Whats really bad is i cant find a manual to work on it !

I found the problem. I went under the tractor and right below the accelerator pedal is a box on the transmission. There are 2 wires coming from it. In my case one was unplugged, I reattached it and everything worked. The dealer told be there is a button on that box that you can also push and it resets something or other, but since it was awire I didn't get that far. Hope that helps.
