Good Morning. 0800, sunny, 78F with 94% humidity. Forecast high of 93F this afternoon, and a low of 72F tonight. It has messed around and got to be summertime here in NW Florida. I think I will give the garden a pass and mow the graveyard and do the trim work with the small tractor today. If I'm still in the mood after that, I'll start on the main part of the grass with the 3930.

Everyone have a good day.

I report to the courthouse this morning for jury selection. New experience for me.

I have jury duty on Monday. Ever two or three years I have to go, but so far I have never been chosen to sit on a jury. The main thing to remember is to bring a good book. There is a whole lot of waiting around.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I have got past the point of being hungry all the time. The big thing for me was eliminating potatoes from my diet. I found that a order of French fries would jack my sugar up for hours. I still have some bread, with sandwiches, but I avoid most other bread stuff. I weighed in this morning @ 180. Less than 3 months ago, I was 215. I have never lost weight this fast before. I am trying to keep the calories down to under 1500 per day. I am doing cardio 7 days a week, strength training 3 days per week. The diet was harder than the exercise. I never really understood that all the exercise in the world cannot overcome a poor diet.

68F and .93 inches ain last 24 hours, just stopped.

Off to transfer station to clean out trailer then to town for inspection.
I may have scored a 55 gallon oil drum from Freecycle for my diesel station.
Fill up 1, maybe 2 drums with diesel. I built two mini pallets so I can unload with my forks.
Need to pick up pain prescription for wife, she also scored an X-ray, PT referral, and ortho referral yesterday.
Once home and unloaded, I can resume my shuffle stuff endeavor.

Be safe
Have a great day..

... Then off to the gym, I am starting to enjoy the workouts. ...

Irv,

#1 I am impressed dude! Great work!
#2 I still do not "enjoy" my workout...

I've been working out for over 13 months now. Typically 4-5 times per week, las summer I had some serious stretches of up to 30 days straight without missing a workout. I've been taking Sunday's off now for some time, and lately have had some weeks where I only get 3-4 workouts in.

I've made amazing progress. I look better in swim trunks than since I was in my late 20's. my 6-pack is possibly the best it has ever been (and I do not do situps). My Chiropractor made me lay of the pushups though because I was getting off balance and my chest muscles were pulling my shoulders out of alignment! I've got to build pull-up bar ASAP.

But I've cut noting out of my diet. I was about 225 May 1 2013, and I am now consistently below 200 and last week in the 196-197 range.

I am infamous for eating an entire bag (8oz) of Grandma Utz BBQ chips :licking::rotfl: in one sitting!

But I still do not "like" working out and must convince myself every day. I use an Exercise diary to enforce my discipline and keep track of progress. It also catches some other stuff... LOL!

Good for you Irv that you are liking the exercise!

Be well all,
David

I misspoke earlier. What I meant to say was as soon as I had picked the snap beans, squash and Zuc's, watered the tomatoes and peppers, then transplanted some tomato plants from the little cell trays into cups, and planted the purple flowers Margie bought yesterday, I was going to give the garden a break. It's a good thing too. While it's only 92F out, the heat index is at 102F. I'm glad the tractor will be making it's own breeze when I finially get down to the graveyard to do my mowing.

Congrats on everyone's weight loss and workout successes. I'm still liking my workouts, but they do take up time I could be wasting.

Good luck Gary. Hope you have lookers coming frequently and some decent offers. Selling the house you live in is no fun. Always trying to keep everything tidy, uncluttered and clean, disappear somewhere when lookers come through, etc. It's a time suck.

Larro, I was selected for the jury. The trial starts June 16th if it goes forward and no deal is cut. I did take a book along, which they suggested in the notification letter. I thought I may not hear well enough to be able to do that, but they have wireless receivers with earphones tied into the PA system which worked well.

They had about 60-70 people there for selection, which was an interesting process in itself. That number was cut at least in half after the law enforcement/family/social services people, anyone who experienced sexual or domestic abuse, knew the accused or victims or their lawyer, or the DA, knew or worked for other jury members, yada yada.

The judge also asked if anyone was a member of the Sovereign Citizens Movement: Sovereign Citizens movement responsible for Or, a member of Real Justice Now -- I believe it was called.

The last step was each remaining potential juror was asked to stand one at a time when their number was called such that the attorneys could eyeball us.

Guys....I admire Irv's and anyone else's dedication to working out...and I have always hated exercise for the sake of it...when I was working for a living my job always kept me fit, constant standing and walking and lifting and moving stuff kept my weight down...I stayed at a constant 165 pounds for over 30 years and could consume all the crap I wanted. But after being retired for 12 years, my weight has crept up to 180...and the older I get the less active I am, it has become a struggle to get off my a** and do things like I used to. I joke with people that it's too bad by the time you realize being active plays a big role in your health, you are too tired to care...
