How is a house connected to the grid then? The house isn't CSA

Everything in the house is and all the way to the pole outside, wire, breakers and panel, the whole sha-bang. Even faucets are CSA.

My guess for the reason being that certifications are expensive.

Bingo.

This issue can arise with all products today.

If you talk to CSA (or UL, CE....) inspectors.... you'll probably have trouble sleeping at night, w/o throwing the main disconnect switch on your elec panel.

Plenty of residential and industrial wiring shows up here from PRC, stamped with all the approvals, all fake.

Legitimate companies can occasionally make a mistake, and should be given a chance to correct the problem.

A few guys on here are running hot on this issue. I don't own a welder, but I can understand their concerns and anger.

Buildings burn down, and lives are lost because of what is widely recognized (in regulatory circles) as criminal activity in PRC.

The details and severity of issues involved with this Everlast non-compliance ? I have no idea, but if I had an affected unit I'd want it replaced with a compliant unit, at no cost to myself.

Rgds, D.

But individual components are not an assembly. We used to make UL control panels, and UL would have to inspect the entire completed assembly. Your house is not a CSA assembly.

Nice attempt at spin there.

Yes people have been banned and information has been deleted. Your own posted link is not accessible to the public.

Now your accusing me of lying? Really? Youre the ones who lied and committed fraud, and are subject of a police investigation and recall because of your proven lies.

A post from another site:
"18 models of plasmas, and welders, bought between Jan 2010, and March 2012. Affects my EX. I don't want to characterize it, but conceptually there are legal problems, safety problems, and economic problems. My guess is that we have legal issues that will cause economic issues for product owners. The health and safety issues are referred to as "potential". To properly prescribe a solution that deals with owner economic issues, the court would have to understand what the real margin is on Chinese product. Because the margin is your gearing to make a solution that makes owners whole and keeps a company around to do that, and the other useful things the company does. I don't think the court understands the economics. And I don't see any evidence they consulted owners before they struck this deal.

Problem is my welder is now conceptually worth zero, and the compensation scheme is not adequate to my way of thinking. Only a few months back I was considering selling the one I have. Now I couldn't do that, ethically at least. Who wants to buy a welder that one was told by the RCMP to toss in the dump.

Cpl David Sutherland, RCMP, is handling the case out of the Milton Office, and the Ontario Provincial Courts in Halton Region seems to have the legal authority. As far as I know this affects all Everlast customers of these 18 models, in Canada, between the dates specified.

(Apparently I can't now post on the Everlast forum.) "

See that last part??? At the time the above post was made, the thread on the neverlast forum was publicly available, so the poster was banned for his post because he could no longer post on the neverlast forum at all.

And this thread on the subject has now been purged from the neverlast site. I read it. It was not a flame thread, just people trying to get info. You should know that, you posted in it. And since you said Duncan "could not access" the forum that means you were likely the one who banned the individual. http://forums.everlastgenerators.com...3832#post53832

This was NOT recent news. It was over 6 days ago that notices started arriving. Neverlast had to be aware of this investigation several months in advance.

Now why dont you GFY.

You guys are real good at hiding info, Ill give you that. http://forums.everlastgenerators.com...3832#post53832 used to link to a discussion on the recall, but it was locked and invisible based on privileges. Now its completely purged and no longer exists on your server.

I do not know what is really going on with this story but with an illegible photo of a letter by the OP and the history of you Scooby074 badmouthing every off shore welder in many post here on TBN, I became interested in the thread and seeing what is going on.

You complain about the Everlast thread not being there (post 53832). With a couple of minutes of research I found the subject post 53832. It is still visible and available. You failed to provide a link that would take you there due to a bad URL link, not any nefarious activity by the board moderators. It was the #4 post in the thread and your statement: "Now its completely purged and no longer exists on your server" is totally false. When a individual makes a false and misleading statement it make one question everything else they say as being incorrect as well. Now I no longer can accept what you post a being factual as you are making claims that I have determined to be false.

I am interested in facts, not wild hair-on-fire claims. I am truly interested in the story and where it goes but I want to see facts not demonstrable falsehoods.

It's OK to take Everlast and their people to task, but I think it's BS to refer to Shield Arc as a shill. He knows what he's doing, and has better luck with his Everlast products than you. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is beyond BS to refer to Shield Arc as a shill for Everlast or anything or anyone else for that matter.

I figured an Everlast shill would dig that up soon enough.

I notice the thread is still locked.

btw, shieldarc, that is the thread I referred to in the first post of this thread. you wouldn't by chance be trying to get this thread locked too?
No not at all! I think this thread is very interesting.
But I' am a little confused as to why you have been on such a crusade against Everlast? Myself, for what little I paid for either one of my Everlast welders, before I started these two threads like you have and run the risk of embarrassing myself as you have done here. I would just take a sledge hammer to them both, and move on.
Now you keep calling me an Everlast shill. Here again you just lose all creditability when doing that.

hmnnn... lets recap.

Everlast is caught counterfeiting CSA certification labels. For over 2 years they lied, not just to me, to every Canadian customer that bought an Everlast machine...

and you haven't a single issue with their behavior.

Will you recommend Everlast welders no matter what contempt they show their customers?

I don't mind the sledge hammer idea, but I want my money back.
