Walk Behind String Trimmer ??

I have the swisher from tsc. and it works pretty good , the only problem I see is you have to turn mine upside down in order to drain the oil . I do agree a self propelled unit would be much nicer for sure .

Mine has a drain plug on the bottom of the motor to drain the oil.

Mine is a couple years old so they must have made a much needed change after so many phone calls .

Yes I have works great so far.Good $$ spent IMHO.

I think this is one of those yard maintenance tools I always overlooked. Now you guys have me thinking. It would probably make my life a lot easier. I've got just about every other type of mower/trimmer going.

I have 2 straight shaft trimmers that I have trimmed with for years.Back in 2007 I had major back surgery and it kills my back to trim for any amount of time.I find the walk behind trimmer to be a better alternative.

I bought one of these several years ago to change the oil on my boat (twin 350 cu in GM V-8s). BIGBOY Topsider MVP Oil Changer/Multi-Purpose Pump | West Marine I think I paid less than $50 then, and you can probably find an equivalent one cheaper than West...if anything says "marine" in the name, the price is inflated. I don't have the boat any more but still use the pump on my walk behind lawn mower and power washer. YMMV
Charlie
Just found it here at 2/3rds the price.

Congrats on your purchase! I have an older DR unit (2002 or so). Bought it at auction a couple years back and am very pleased with it.

I used up all of the string it came with, and have tried the .135 and .150 string (Not DR string). Breaks it very quickly. Just ordered a roll of .175 spiral string from DR. Hopefully I will be back in business soon.
