My 50 hour maint. is coming up. I have a ck35 gear drive. Must I use Kioti filters? If I save receipts can I use any other brand oil and filters? Will my warranty be affected?

I doubt you will find the hydraulic filter anywhere other than a Kioti original. You will find engine oil, fuel and air fliter though. I have used Kioti filters for all being that the prices are comparable depending on where you buy them. There's the Moss something act, a member here can fill if the other letters, that advises that original equipment doesn't have to be used. Just be able to show that you did it by the receipts.

I'd look at this as opportunity to make/maintain contact with your local dealer unless the travel distance is prohibitive.

You have bought a very nice expensive tractor, why not support your local dealer and buy your filters from them?Just curious?

If you don't use OEM filters you should ok it with your dealer. He/she is the one going to bat for you if there is any problems. I know about all the laws but they still can make your life tough if it is not what they want to see. CJ

I called Kioti and they really insist on Kioti filters. They say if there is a failure, and it can be traced to an aftermarket filter, they won't warranty it.
So thats it, Kioti filters for me.

At least with a gear drive you don't have the expensive HST filter.

Does all this mean that I should be going to the Chevy dealer to buy filters, because I own a couple of Chevys? (Each of them cost 10 to 15k more than my Kioti) Don't think so. Nor am I going to go to BMW to get a filter for my bike....there is nothing magic about a filter made in Germany, Japan, or S. Korea

Right now, we don't have much choice with the hydraulic filter(either Kioti or Bobcat), but the rest of them, air, fuel, and oil, all available at Napa or the like....probably even American made.....Hill Billy Bob

I guess that's your call?chuck172 posted his comment from his conversation with kioti.Good luck with your choice of filters.

Hill Billy, I agree.
Any dealer that needs you to buy a $15 filter to stay in business, probably has bigger issues causing his financial problems.
Any good machine will run with a good filter from a good filter company.

Is it REALLY about a $15 filter to stay in business,I think not?IMHO its about supporting your local dealer who sold you the tractor. When you need Kioti parts for your tractor are you gonna go to the napa parts store? He!! no your not you would be going to your local Kioti tractor dealer correct? To much WAL-MART mentality.

If the dealer really needs your support on items not made by the vehicle company, such as oil filters made by filter companies, then they should price them to attract you in. That's called a free market. Trying to make a consumer "feel guilty" for not spending more money from a dealer is a demented business idea. Don't try to put failing multi-million dollar corporate/dealer management cost structure decisions on the consumer. That's plain poor. They choose the price...
If they have a good product at a good price It will sell itself.

I have a CK2510 with HST. Not at 50 hrs yet but is the HST filter $$$? Also I was gonna use Rotella and quality Hydo fluid ... do I have to use Kioti Fluids?

No! You don't have to. The HST filter can only be had from Kioti, the rest you can cross over to others.

You just don't seem to get it.
Sales and marketing success is the company's burden,... or fortune.. not the buyer's.
If you don't do any work to generate any enthusiasm for the consumer regarding a certain item, then don't cry when they don't come to your store to buy it.

Pretty simple actually.

This makes perfect sense to me. Kioti cannot be responsible for the quality or compatibility of filters they don't control. So if you install such a filter AND it damages your machine, it's not Kioti's problem. Maybe you could go after the filter supplier but good luck with that; I foresee a long and costly liability fight there. If it was a Kioti part that caused the problem there's nothing to fight about; the ball is in Kioti's court.

If Kioti is like most companies they don't make much (if any) profit on parts and supplies. Dealers do make something on servicing but only make money on parts if they have to stock anyway. When you consider the man-hours to research, order, receive and inventory, notify, and sell a special order part it would be a loss except the employee's (or owner's) time was already a sunk cost.

Fluids are different. Kioti provides a spec or at least a list of suitable (non-Kioti) fluids. As long as you comply, no problem. Engine oil, in particular always shows the appropriate API certifications on the container. Generic (like TSC) hydraulic fluid is harder to figure but most containers at least list some of the applications and specs (Deere, Case, etc.) the oil does meet.

Personally, my only complaint here is that I don't have a Kioti or Bobcat dealer nearby. If I did, I would have a vested interest in the quality of his support and his continued existence. As it is, I'm glad there are folks like MIE that can get me what I need.

I have no idea what point DarkBlack is trying to make.

I think I'm loosing you here. In the hope of saving a post, I'm going to guess what I think you are trying to hypothesize:
So... you are saying that because a guy didn't buy a $15 oil filter from a tractor dealer....That leads to a catastrophic chain of events that leads to you not being able to buy Kioti parts?:confused2:
