Jeff---She is from Grand Heritage Kennels outside of Gettysburg Pa., and is strictly a trial dog. Like you I've had setters for years (and pointers) and would be lost without them. The only birds we have left are a few grouse and the woodcock when they migrate through the area. Your setter pic caught my eye, very stylish dog.
Thanks for the info. I've always bought dogs from field trialers. Seems to me it was easier to get them to check in, if they ranged a bit too far, than it was to get them to go out and hunt, if they were shoe polishers. We've still got a few spots with huntable coveys of quail. Then there's always the preserve places for some fun.

<img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/photos/374375-dog-pics-image-2867691598-jpg"/> This is my guy who had a stroke a few months ago. He is doing incredible and is 100% back to his old self. In this pic he is listening to popcorn being made, knowing that it's just a matter of time before he gets some :)

Awesome, glad to see he's doing well!

You can't eat an apple around my place since they know the "crunch" sound and get in line for some. They have their own apples and have learned the crunch sound leads to them getting some apples. As I type this I've got three out of six staring at me from an uncomfortably close distance and watching every bite.

Great looking pups there.

Yes, we all know that our "children" have great hearing. Mine is on a ice kick and comes running when she hears the ice dispenser.

Had a lot of fun looking through this thread. Here's my boy Basil.

This is from about 12 months ago, only a few months old, on one of his first trips outdoors...

Cool ears. I bet he likes those ears rubbed.

He loves having them cleaned. Once every week or two he lies there whilst they get the Colton ball treatment. He drags them on the ground wherever he goes so they are full of mud in no time. He'll usually trip over them if he tries to run with his nose down!

i am very jealous of this!! thought i had the same when purchased my foton tractor..

Here's my Supervisor Buddy giving me instructions on how
to drive his tractor. He claims to have been a heavy equipment
operator back in Pomerania but somehow, I don't quite believe
it. He also claims our Polaris Ranger which he wants
me to put a supercharger on cause a mere 50 horse power and
60 mile an hour (only done that once out of curiosity) just ain't
fast enough for the little speed demon.

OMG he should have been named Dumbo!

...

Small point here but we once named a favorite dog "Cubby" after my favorite Kubota at that time (M8950).

My wife with our newest addition, Roux. She's only about 4 weeks old right now so she is still living with her parents at the breeder's house for another month.

Here she is with her older brother Puzzle, who is my son's ASD service dog.

Puzzle has been such a wonderful addition to our family that when his breeder decided to do a repeat breeding we couldn't pass on idea of getting one of his full siblings. Both my wife and I have had dogs all of our lives, but this has been our first experience with golden's and it has been an amazing year and half so far. If Roux turns out to be half the dog Puzzle is, in her own way, she will be an awesome family member.
