I feel stupid as **** for it even being in the vicinity of where the tree came down. It broke a bunch of stuff. Is this covered by KTAC?

Well the tree "professionals" I hired dropped the tree right on my house, sheared the gas meter right off the wall and fire department had to evacuate the whole block until the gas company came. So you need to do something way worse before it counts as stupid.

Not only did I mess the show, they didn't even call me at work to tell me. I didn't find out until I got home that night and noticed one gutter was missing, the siding was torn off, and the gas meter was all shiny and new. I stood there trying to figure out if an asteroid hit the house until the neighbor told me what happened.

Though I am late posting, I certainly feel your pain. I dropped a tree on my mint M6800DT over the winter and boy am I sick. I got even sicker when I got the prices from Kubota for a hood, left fender and the light housings on both fenders. $600 for a hood, $1100 for a fender, and $100 a piece for lights & fender ends. What makes me so angry with myself is that that little common sense voice inside of me told me to move my 6800 before dropping the tree with a chainsaw. Did I listen? NOOO...

I see there are a bunch of other nuts, bolts, washers, pins... sure does seem hard to believe they were damaged and needed replacing.

Yes but if one ever failed or even worked loose we would be all torqued up about it NOT being replaced for such an expensive repair.

There were likely parts taken off as a unit and not individual parts. Sometimes it can be easier to replace than spend the time dismantling.
