It looked like a classic case of a deer caught in the headlights, to me.

Yeah with the big off road light mounted above the cab or in this case perhaps a Jeep's roll bars. I can just about see a big oversized tire looking black shadow where it should be. Nothing spectacular about that photo.

I must admit that I also don't understand the IR lights on my game camera, but it looked like a second deer to me, with an odd lighting behavior from the light reflecting from it's eyes. It is perhaps a lighting interaction due to the two deer at different distances?

I've never had a good understanding of the IR lights on my game camera either. Would someone please explain or post a link where I could learn more?
