My pet peeve! :banghead: Sort of. If 3 (the most significant digit), represents the month, then .14159 of a 31 day month is on the 4th. Actually its .389 of the way through that 24hr day, (or about 9.34 hours = or 9:20am). So, (IMO) Pi moment was March 4th at 9:20am and xxxx seconds.
Perhaps you want to argue that some people use periods for the date (e.g 3.14.14), but 3.14 IS NOT Pi. It's just an excuse for lazy teachers to eat bake goods! Who can blame them (hey if dumbing American down means a slice of apple pie, pass the fork!)

Hate to admit that I was mislead by this celebration all these years. I celebrated and mislead my math students for years and now in retirement I realize I failed them. Thanks for pointing that out!
