I had an F350 some years ago...sudden front end shimmy occurred after out of regular warranty...had it fixed at a mechanic shop...then several years later got notice that a class action suit had been filed and ford would reimburse the repair cost if I could show the receipts...which I could not... so, dunno if yours suffers the same problem, but worth some kind of check or complaint...problem sounds well known to dealer, thus a design/manufacture problem IMHO, not just normal wear...

According to the ford dealer .. It has the "death wobble" something that is common in the 05 to 10 .. F250's .. The torsion bar, ball joints and something else had to be replaced ... $$$!.. I said go ahead and fix it as long as we can put that on a payment plan !!!!

Are you saying we might all get lucky and get some RAIN?!?!?!
Seems like we just keep missing it here, maybe not this time. Keeps developing over us then moving off and raining to the south or NE, leaving us out of the action. Grasses would like to kick off, with warmer weather and some nice sunny days but no moisture. One good soaker and we would be knee high. HS

Hey Farmgirl, in your travels around Parker County, have you noticed any blooming peach orchards? The peach trees here in northern Wise and southern Montague seem to be safely not in bloom yet. I'm hoping our last cold snap didn't damage any swelling buds. It would be great to have a huge peach harvest here this year. I have my fingers crossed.:)

Jim, my peach trees where almost to bloom, in fact had one blossom half opened the day before it got so cold. Just came in from looking and it looks like 25% of my buds are brown:mad: Apricots look to be in decent shape, plums have damaged buds. Apples and pears barely on the move.

We got down to 14* and wind chill at 0*, not sure what FG had, but it couldn't have been much warmer there?

We had a great luncheon at the Longhorn today. Tossed salad, giant Russet baked potato with butter, bacon, onion and sour cream topping, a small steak, and delicious honey wheat bread.

50 years ago today, I was so nervous I couldn't get my necktie tied correctly without help from my best man:)
So I am sitting here smiling thinking of other meanings of your statement:D

Western; It got down to 13 with the last cold spell, and yes, some of the peach trees already had blooms, or at least buds. :(

Patricia and I flew out of Houston to NYC Tuesday morning. Missed all the bad weather but, had a bit more than 3/4" in the rain gauge when I got to ranch this afternoon. Woo Hoo!

Maybe more rain this weekend!

I was told today that they make a grease zerk that does not need threads ... just drill a hole and tap it in with a hammer ... anyone heard of this?

Boeing uses tap in fittings all over the plane. If a fitting misses a few greasing(s) and old the grease gets hard inside.......................the pressure from trying to pump grease in................blows the fitting out. Worst place they blow out is the landing gears. When I grease landing gears................I carry a pair of dykes to pull the zert out of the gun fitting. Then you gotta get a hammer and a bronze or brass punch to hammer in a new one or a socket just a little smaller than the fitting's shoulder. Usually the new one blows out also. Pain in the butt when it is a 90 degree fitting and there is no room to hammer it in. One does get inventive.

Give me Douglass Aircraft threaded zerts any day.
hugs, Brandi
