I have a 2008 BX25.

I see that Curtis has a new part number cab for 70 series BX tractors, the steel door cab part number is 1KBX70AS.

I like the design of it much better than the 1KBX25AS that they have had offered for the BX25, specifically the hard removable rear panel and the larger doors.

I have sent them an email asking if the new cab will fit my BX25, but in the meantime while waiting for a reply, what does the TBN forum think?

For anyone that has seen a 60 BX25 next to a 70 BX25 do you know why/if that cab will not fit?

Thanks

Tractors do have some changes and that made the need to change the cab! Could you put one on? Anything is possible depending on your ability.

Well I have gotten a response saying that the new 1KBX70AS will not fit my 2008 BX25.

When I said I liked the new cab better because of the removable rear panel I was told in re my tractor " we don’t offer the hard rear panel upgrade for this tractor model because of the backhoe system."

But the new 70 series BX25D also has a backhoe?

Yeah, that's confusing all right. The only thing I can think of is that the rops is different on the BX25D. I have the older style soft sided and I like it all right but the rear curtain is defiantly my least favorite part.

I really wish I could help -- dont have a curtis and havent really studied the shaped of 60 and 70 series. I just wonder if the angle of rops is what throwing it all off?

The part number K2592-39523 for the lower ROPS frame is the same for the BX25 and the BX25D. The top frame part number is different. The cab mount clamps to the lower frame.

The fender kit K2692-95524 is listed for both BX25 and BX25D.

Well then I'm completely stumped as to why the new 70 series cab wouldn't fit on a BX25. It's a lot of money to make a leap of faith chance on though. Wish I could be of more help.

Looking at some new 70 series BX25's on the internet, it appears the difference in the top half of the ROPS is that it cants forward a bit in relation to the lower half so that it is vertical.

If that it so it would not seem to preclude mounting the new 1KBX70AS Curtis cab. Pictures of that cab show that the upper ROPS swings up and just rests in U shaped locating brackets. I would guess the 60 series upper ROPS just would not nestle all the way in to that bracket.

If any of the Kubota/Curtis dealers out there that frequent TBN are listening you would sure be doing us a big favor if the next time you get a new 70 series Curtis cab in for a customer, do a quick dry fit of the parts on a 60 series. And it might help you net another cab sale!

Are there any TBN'ers out there with the new 1KBX70AS cab?

No interest to anyone else in this topic?

I'm very interested...both in terms of the BXxx and the B-series.

But I don't have a Curtis Cab, or know of one who does.

Thus, I *Bump* in hope of further, relevant commentary.

I got to see a brand new 1KBX70AS in person today, just installed on a BX2670 today at the dealer. Very nice. There were no 60 series around the dealer to compare and unfortunately I did not have a tape measure with me but didn't see any reason why it would not work on the BX25 60 series.

Are there ever any sales/specials/discounts/deals on these Curtis cabs or is it full price all the time?

BUMP... As I'm investigating a Curtis Cab myself.

I have a BX25 60 series. Days like today make me wish 100x over that I had bought the 25D they had on the lot when I got mine... instead I chose to save like $750 for the "old" model... what a waste of saving money (plus the seat really is much more comfortable on the 25D).

Literally might upgrade to a B3350 now just because I DO NOT like the old cab compared to the new one - so it makes me re-think EVERYTHING.

Unreal.

Yes the new cab is much nicer, with the larger doors and the hard rear panel. If I am buying a hard cab, I want it to be hard on all four sides not just three.

I think it will fit just fine. The lower part of the ROPS is the same part number. The upper part of the ROPS is different, it tilts forward on the 70 series.

I think if you install the new cab on a 60 series all that would be askew is the ROPS wouldn't nest into those two brackets on the cab, it will be laying back. And I think that can be fixed either by buying a 70 series upper ROPS or just making some extension brackets for those U brackets on the cab so they reach the ROPS.

Still no help on this topic? Any dealers out there that are ready to install the 1KBX70AS on a 70 series that have a 60 series BX25 available to quickly hold the side frames and the front cowl piece up up to it to see if it seems it would fit?

Amazing. I must assume this to be a forbidden topic to speak about. Maybe Curtis would punish a dealer that would admit the 1KBX70AS can be adapted to a 60 series BX25.

Not sure if this helps, but I think the Curtis cab #1KBX25SS (soft-side) or the #1KBX25AS would work with the 60 series(bx 24 & bx25). The ROPS are angled back on these versions and this cab has a angled filler glass?
Here is the link to the literature. There is a vendor selling that version on eBay for $3600

The #1KBX70AS or 1KBX70SS would be for 70 series (25D)
