They're saying a good chance of rain today.........we'll see. A little moisture will be good.

We wish everybody in the great state of Texas a Happy Independence Day on Sunday.

March 2,1836 a Declaration of Independence was signed at Washington-on-the-Brazos Declaring that the Republic of Texas was independent from Mexico.

The boys and the grandkids are coming out for a little BBQ and celebration. God Bless Texas! At some point during the festivities someone will read "Travis' letter from the Alamo" to stir our Patriotic love for the state.

"Texas.......it was a whole other country.

Charlie, we are still "a whole other country":thumbsup:

Dont want to be the pessimist, but I think the "rain" was a fabrication by the weathermen since thy have nothing better to do,OR, they are messing with Jim's mind again:D I have been watching the radar and it looks like a poor chance for me.

pacerron; Those are beautiful photos!

And I have LOTS of minerals in my well water. Have to replace water heater elements yearly, as well as shower head nozzles and the like. My well pump is only 232 feet deep, if memory serves. (I have it written down somewhere, but am not going to go look it up, at the moment. )

Dreary day here this morning, and is as warm as it will be all day. I would love some soaking rains, but am tired of the cooler temps.

FG,
It was a lovely day outside yesterday. Just 24 hours later it is dreary and snowing again. A big snow predicted for Monday, so hopefully the old farmer's almanac will be right with March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb. So far the groundhog has been right.:D

Dennis- I had to run into town early this morning, and it did start to rain. By the time I started home it was raining pretty good..........by the time I traveled the 5 mi. home..............not a drop. When they say scattered they mean SCATTERED!!!

And yes we're still another country.......specially in attitude.

Ron, those where some nice photos. Your farm looks almost like a well manicured stat park!:D

Bird, after reading your post, I checked my gauge. Surprised to have found .11:confused3: It was wet out at daylight, but sure didnt look like more than a trace. I "aint" proud, I will take it.

Charlie, that is usually how my luck is, just enough to get the truck dirty and make a fella "hopeful". Kinda like the girl at the bar that ask you to buy her a drink:eek:

Ron, your photos are great and have a certain winter charm, but they sure send a shiver of cold up my spine.:)

Dennis and Charlie: On the channel 8 news last night, Pete Delkus said over and over that we would have "widespread" light rain. After he said it over a dozen times, I told my wife I'd scream if he said it again. Well, he said it twice more before his forecast was over.:confused2:

:laughing::laughing: Dennis, I GUARANTEE you that if a girl asks you to buy her a drink, she'll try to borrow money before the night is over.

P Ron,
I like all your photos also. They have a professional quality to them. The views are awesome also. I love the aerator bubbling up over the ice.
hugs, Brandi
