Great choice on the DK50HST. And ag tires sound like the right choice for you too. I've got R4's on mine but sometimes wish I had R1's.

My new DK50SE HST was delivered this morning. The dealer called to let me know when they were doing the pre-delivery check they found the parking brake light switch was bad, and one of the interior trim panels had a little ding in it. I doubt I would have noticed either one. So they have replacements on the way and will come out & fix it when the parts are in. They also swapped out the R4's for Ag R1's and installed a second rear remote. I moved a LOT of snow today - started out with 1 hour on it, and ended up with 6.

The heater works so well, I forgot it was cold out until I took a break from snow removal to run some firewood over to the house. Brr! Loving the cab already!!! I had the heat turned town most of the way, the fan on 1, and the back windows open. I was wearing my coat though.

And yes, whoever said the HST was ideal for loader work was dead-on right. Definitely the way to go.

Piling up the muck heap. I got horse poo on my shiny new tractor... Oh well!

Congrats. Yours looks ALMOST as good as MY DK50SE HST Cab. :D

Day two - I think there's 12 hours on it now. :)

Cleaned out the piles of 90-10 (90% snow, 10% horse poo) out of the paddock that I had pushed to one end over the winter with my other tractor. I broke up and hauled out some big blocks of snow with no trouble - it sort of looks like cookie dough ice cream, but I wouldn't want to eat it:

And it's not like anyone here hasn't seen a Kioti DK50SE HST Cab before, but here's a pic of the tractor:

Check the tightness of the jamb nut on your FEL level indicator tube..Mine loosened up in the first 10 hours and I wadded up the little rod. I staked it after repair and reassembly with red locktite and staked it with an automatic center punch. Also check the nuts that hold the grease zerks/pins in on each side of the loader. I believe there are 8 per side, right by each grease zerk. Several of mine were loose. Of course check and torque all of the loader frame bolts.. If they loosen up they will egg out the threaded portions of the tractor housing.. and that is really really bad.:)

That's great advice - thank you!

The HST was the reason I ended up with the 50. At the time it was the biggest tractor with it. IMHO it is the only thing to have unless you are doing nothing but field work. The last 2 Dozers I ran were both HST's and that is the ONLY way to go with a dozer, SOOO much nicer. I also build hydrostatic top drives for the oilfields and if kept clean they will last a LONG time. So NJ at your 50 hour service change your hydraulic fluid, you won't believe how dirty it will be and what kind of crap comes out with it. Mine had paint chips, thread cuttings and silicone in it. Mine was the same. A lot of guys don't change it, but I was glad I changed mine at 50.

Thanks guys - more good advice! I'm up to 13 hours since it was delivered Saturday morning. At this rate I'll be at 50 hours by next weekend.

Yea, I just don't know how to explain to people how critical it is to keep clean fluid. These systems are filtered 2 times once on the suction and once after it goes through the powersteering circuit. The filters clean down to 5-10 micron or so and the clearances in a typical hydrostat are .0005 or tighter So you have particles that measure .0004 going through .0005 gaps does that cause wear? Yea you bet it does. Let alone what it does to brass slipper shoes on the pistons. I filter all the Hydrostatic systems I build down to 3 micron just to keep the wear down. If I can't get 3-5 years out of a hydrostat 24 7 I find out why. Anyway if you plan on keeping your tractor for 5000 hours + keep the hyd fluid clean. Your hydrostat will thank you. CJ

It did feel good:)

I was suprised how dirty it was, compared to the clean MobilFluid 424 I poured in it.

The small amount of fluid that came out when I changed the hydraulic and hydrostatic filters did not look bad at all at the 200 hour filter only change.

I know that this has been conversed to death on various threads here, with proponents on both sides, but I can only attest to what the fluid out of mine at 50 hours looked like, and it was not pretty.

I called and talked to a tech at Mobile and the 424 oil is good through 3500 to 4k hours. So I will be changing filters and sampling to find out how far I should go with out changing. Just thought you would like to know! CJ

Thanks.
I think the first change is the most important one, and I am glad it is behind me.

I poured my 50hr hyd oil into the white buckets that my new hyd fluid came in, they sat in my shed for a couple weeks before I dumped them at the recycle, some of the crap had settled out of the oil and is in the bottom of the buckets, I'll snap a couple pics this weekend and post them for the non believers.;)

Should we call them "Fluid-Deniers?" :D

Also, as long as we are talking about oil, another grey area...I have 98 hours on my tractor, I changed the engine oil at 50, the manual says change at 50, then it had a dot on 100, 200, etc...Do I need to change it again at 100, then every hundred??

Your interpretations please:confused3:

Thanks
