power steering

Have any of you converted a car power steering unit to use on a full sized tractor?I'm making a custom tractor out of a f12 farmall with a chevy 153 4cyl. engine.I want to change the position of the steering wheel from verticle to about 45* and have a dash board to match that angle.Power steering units for tractors are way too expensive so I'm looking for options.

rack and pinion or recirculation ball style? ... either one can have a universal joint to swivel the steering wheel ... or get a tilt steering column from a wrecker .....

small cars use the r&p ... most trucks still unit the recirc ball type ...

I'm not sure which type to use as the steering on the f12 is worm gear.R&P seems probably the way to go.I also have thought about a hyd.pump & motor closed system.Steering wheel mounted to the pump shaft with the motor mounted to the worm gear shaft.Easy to run hyd lines.More to think on!
