How many of you guys use battery operated impact wrenches?

It's never a bad idea to get a whole set like this as a kit!! Two of the guys at my last job kept trying to steer me towards a 3/8 cordless impact. They are smaller and can fit in Many tighter spaces!! It's saved my hands so many times. My wrist get overworked in small spaces. Save your hands !!! Up to 250 foot pounds off in such a small package. I bought a snap on 3/8 14 volt due to the ability to pay 20 or 40$ a week.

Packaged deals are great and milwakees are great!! I did purchase a Nesko 1/2 inch impact and it did hold up very well for a 300$ tool. But it only had one battery.

If you buy the tool think highly about being able to use the same battery with your drill, driver, sawzaw, even circular saw. ONE charger!!! I can't tell you how many times I had wished I brought both chargers instead of just one.

I am sure that would be a good one. I have the DeWalt 18v 1/2" Impact wench, and I have not used my IR air unit since I bought it. The Milwaukee wrench is rated to be quite a bit stringer than the DeWalt, but I already had several other 18v tools.

I have a DeWalt DCF885 - 20volt. It's a great driver and saves time. It won't break really tight nuts, i.e. lug nuts, but it's great after breaking them by hand. I don't know if any of the battery units will actually break really tight nuts loose similar to an air impact. Maybe there are some that do, but I don't know which ones.

I was using a Craftsman 120v electric 1/2" impact (Dewalt) for most things and have real beast 1/2" air impact for things like axle and crank bolts/ nuts. Two Christmases ago the GF bought me a 1/2"Fuel 18v Milwaukee driver/ hammer/ drill with two large batteries. I figured I would buy just the impact (tool only). I never use the corded impact, not even sure where it is. The cordless with the large batteries lasts forever. In the fall I use it to swap over from summer to winters. Each battery has a gauge on it and if it drops down one "block" I would be surprised. This year she bought me the new 18v Milwaukee grease gun with a small battery pack. Once it warms up I'm going to see just how much of a difference there is in capacity between the large and small packs.

We got a craftsman 19 volt drill/saw combo pack as a gift for our teenage son that included the 1/2" drive impact, I was so impressed with it I bought one for myself. It will take off any properly torqued lugnuts. I have all Makita in my work truck but after getting the craftsman impact I have since added several more tools to keep at the home shop, the new lith ion batteries are great.

I think the battery impacts are great. I will get one of the bigger Milwaukees 18v impacts to use up at the orchard for equipment maintenance. Used tires they get for the wagons are forever going flat. I now have the 3/8 drive 12v Milwaukee impact wrench (@100 ft lbs) now to go along with the 1/4 in hex driver I got before Christmas. Both will be just right for tunnel house assembly small and light weight for up on the ladder. Fit right in my tool pouch and will make fast work of running nuts down tight on carriage bolts with a deep socket and driving the small lags. Just for grins I tried it on my dual axle trailer wheel lug nuts and they came right off. Wouldn't budge the old trucks frozen lugs.

I really like my Milwaukee tools, they have one really bad draw back. The li ion batteries can't take the cold. I've replaced more then ten battery pack between my v28 and m18 kits in the last 5 years. All were under warranty but that has run out as of last September.

I have the same one and it works well, but have had two issues. I tried to tighten shock absorbers and thought I had them tight. But they were not. The Dewalt could not get them tight in that application. Also if the battery is low, it sounds normal but does not have the same torque. This can be confusing.
