I have a Max22 TLB what should I be using for hydraulic fluid? Are there different grades?

I'd say get the best oil you can afford; this should be available at the dealer. Your service manual should specify also.

May appear tenuous, but I put top-notch oil in my RTV's HST and I noticed a huge improvement in the fluid dynamics.

What oils are you using Trask? Anything synthetic?

"Super UDT" on my maintenance records; I'll check in the shop tomorrow (to be sure)

There are many different grades, just get the fluid recommended by the manufacturer for your climate or equivalent.
