GC2400 Starting

Tried starting the girl this AM. Temp was ~30F after. The low last night was ~10F. Anyway it just wouldn't start and was turning over slower than usual on the original battery. Called my dealer. He was about to close but was in the area delivering equipment, so we set up an appointment. Thanks, Perry.

Put new battery in and it started in one revolution with the temp at ~38F. Battery would have been adequate for Summer, but could not hold a charge strong enough to start in Winter.

If you are having similar problems check the battery.

If you don't use your tractor regularly, and or really need to be able to rely on it when it's really cold, a trickle charger can make a big difference. It can also extend the life of the battery.

My GC2310 is 9 years old ........ had to charge the original battery today to get it started.

I installed this Battery Tender on mine tonight.:thumbsup:
Hook up the cable to the battery, it has a quick connect to unhook it from the charger.

Mine wouldn't start not because of the battery. My fuel filter was gelled up. Pays to have spares around. LOL

All diesel is not the same. Try to find a better fuel supplier.

We have a small supplier in my area that I have come to find all the farmers buy their fuel from. They put quality additives in it, and don't skimp on them. I have never had any issues with it.

Had to put mine on the charger 'again' to get it started today. Original battery - 9 years old. Heard a Group 51 size will fit. Found a 'DEKA' brand w/600 CCA for $80.00.

I have a Battery Tender for the '67 Plymouth. They work great - I'll have to get one for the GC.

Correct, it's a common Honda battery.
