Where do you carry your gun on your tractor?

Sorry I've not paid attention to it I guess. Notice you don't know where this great place to live is cause he has not filled that out. Maybe on a Boat somewhere?

I probably pay too much attention to these threads and have gotten into some really lengthy "discussions" over time, but try to stay away from it too much anymore.

I hear Canada is pretty safe and I'm sure there are others; betcha where I live is and I'm just another paranoid whackjob.:)

Well I betcha you have some methheads over there too. We sure have plenty of methmakers around here. But ole Wheedpharma lives in some nice "safe" place. Well I got news for you fella.. There ain't no such of a thing as a safe place to live. Your safety is an illusion. We like to think where we live and work is safe. and 99% or more of the time it is. But it is not. As long as there are people, there will be crime, and sooner or later you may be faced with the prospect of being a victim of that crime. Those of us that ever worked in law enforcement know about the illusion of safety. Law enforcement cannot protect you from what depraved, bad, desperate people can and will do to you if you "number" is up, only you can do that. And even armed, you have a better chance of a good outcome, but it is not guaranteed. Anyone can be blindsided. So may you sleep good at night in you ignorance ,helplessness and hope. It is not paranoia if people really want to hurt you, and they really want to hurt you.

If I had a dollar for every CAP (Crime Against Person/Property) report I filled out, well I could buy some nice new implements!:)

Oh, and I took the majority of them over the phone. The only thing they are good for is so the homeowner can file an insurance claim.

Right on so many points James, I worked in criminal justice/corrections and law enforcement occasionally as backup to real police/troopers/deputies and I don't remember ever talking to a victim who thought they were in danger prior to the crime with domestic violence being the exception. My son was also a police officer for several years.

For twenty plus years my best friend was a proud liberal democrat who railed against guns and refused to have one in her home as did her husband. They were burglarized while in the house repeatedly a couple of years ago and the sheriff's department took five to twelve hours to respond. Well you know who they came to for advice on what gun to keep in their home...

For about 10 years my wife and I did the shooting portion of the instruction at Bass Pro's "Womens handgun seminars" the Conservation Commission did the legal portion. But anyway, If I had a dollar for every "story" I heard from the women taking the course, about how they were burglarized, robbed, beaten, raped or threatened, I would have a bunch of dollars. The rape victims tended to gravitate to the wife, as they had very little trust in men, and who could blame them? But I would say over half of the women that came to the seminars "had a reason" of some kind, not just being prepared. I personally have faced some "bad" people and was very glad I was armed, and even a few recently. It is rare, and most people are nice and mean you no harm. But you just never know when you are going to run into a desperate one. Sometimes they come to your house unfortunately.

I feel like I should feel safer than I do... We went to smokey mountain knife works, and my wife is checking BIG knifes out, machetes. So I started razzing her a little, what do you need a knife that big for? She tells me she has been wanting 1 for the mower. We leave the gate open to mow outside the gate, and with ear plugs in she's afraid someone would drive up on her and she would not notice and she would be unarmed. I asked her if she would carry a gun but she said their was no place comfortable to put it, and because of the bumps and dips in the yard she was afraid to loose it. So I may mount her a plastic box on the mower also. Any good ideas for a good plastic, dust proof, easy latch, unlatch, water proof box, kind of like a ammo can but smaller, maybe 1/2 the size???

I didn't mean to stir things up and I might still have taken CM's comments out of context. Usually I veer away from controversial opinions here unless that is the direct subject at hand...like a thread titled : "Should I carry firearm on my tractor", then it's open season so to speak on opinions. But this one was asking where/how, not should I so I kinda feel that we should stay on that subject. By responding, I took the thread more off course....my apologies.

Back on track...I think I found a good place to hang the Molle Scabbard on the new Bulldog with my Henry Gb 22LR in it:
