On my person, ALWAYS!!
Sorry I've not paid attention to it I guess. Notice you don't know where this great place to live is cause he has not filled that out. Maybe on a Boat somewhere?
I probably pay too much attention to these threads and have gotten into some really lengthy "discussions" over time, but try to stay away from it too much anymore.
I hear Canada is pretty safe and I'm sure there are others; betcha where I live is and I'm just another paranoid whackjob.![]()
illusion of safety, That is what the Police are. They then will come to fill out the proper forms.
Well I betcha you have some methheads over there too. We sure have plenty of methmakers around here. But ole Wheedpharma lives in some nice "safe" place. Well I got news for you fella.. There ain't no such of a thing as a safe place to live. Your safety is an illusion. We like to think where we live and work is safe. and 99% or more of the time it is. But it is not. As long as there are people, there will be crime, and sooner or later you may be faced with the prospect of being a victim of that crime. Those of us that ever worked in law enforcement know about the illusion of safety. Law enforcement cannot protect you from what depraved, bad, desperate people can and will do to you if you "number" is up, only you can do that. And even armed, you have a better chance of a good outcome, but it is not guaranteed. Anyone can be blindsided. So may you sleep good at night in you ignorance ,helplessness and hope. It is not paranoia if people really want to hurt you, and they really want to hurt you.
Right on so many points James, I worked in criminal justice/corrections and law enforcement occasionally as backup to real police/troopers/deputies and I don't remember ever talking to a victim who thought they were in danger prior to the crime with domestic violence being the exception. My son was also a police officer for several years.
For twenty plus years my best friend was a proud liberal democrat who railed against guns and refused to have one in her home as did her husband. They were burglarized while in the house repeatedly a couple of years ago and the sheriff's department took five to twelve hours to respond. Well you know who they came to for advice on what gun to keep in their home...
