I'm a righty, so carry a double barrel over under sideways in between my upper and lower jaw facing east to west with a limited edition S&W, Sig Haur, 9mm, leather bound kevlar encased, 999 round, jacketed, teflon coated, unobtitanium covered radioactive shells, with fast reloading laser guided missle silo tested and FDA certified angus beef tipped rounds. Never miss a chance to whip it out and show the ratz and women folks whoze carring whadt! Know whadt I'm talking bout.

Awesome. I've gotta get some of those!

Don't waste your money-the new unobtainium rounds are a much improved ammo........

Just kidding. We keep an inexpensive Hi-Point 9mm auto pistol in a simple zippered case in the glove compartment in our farm Gator, primarily for rabid raccoons we've had on occasion.

I may end up just mounting a cheap plastic case, problem with that is it is not very quick to draw from. But it would keep me from cleaning every nook and cranny every time I use the tractor. May have to hook the key to a lanyard thru the case, just so I don't accidentally leave it on the tractor. Coyote, dogs and 2 legged vermin would be the primary concern, but the wife claims to have seen a bear in the back yard.

Also the state I live in Tennessee is # 1 in the nation for meth production and lucky me I live in the top producing county in the state. You can accidentally end up in an episode of the walking dead if you are not careful around here. And as little as you may think you have, if it looks easy enough to take IT'S GONE.

People's first stop around here in the spring is the pawn shop. because they haven't needed the mower thru the winter, and now they need to mow and the mower, weed eater, and gas can are gone.

Have to give drivers license to the clerk at the store to get fuel for a Coleman lantern, or stove or anything that can be used to make meth. Good cold medicine is behind the counter, have to have a drivers license for that also, can't buy more than 2.

That's why I want a gun on my tractor. Even though I live away from town, have barbed wire around my place, and no trust pass signs on the gate. If I leave the gate open for fedex or ups I will have people drive down my 1000 foot long driveway to see what they can steal. They can't see the truck or the car from the road and can't resist the thought of free stuff. I'm 6 foot 5 260# and ugly but it don't seem to help.

I used to shoot a lot have plenty of natural back stops, and friends would come over and shoot, maybe rifle maybe pistol. But if the gate was left open you could count on a car load of freaks coming down the driveway to check it out. POSTED, and GUN FIRE and look at you like well the gate was opened, and we didn't see any cars from the road so we thought their might be free stuff back here. I mean how high would you have to be to go down someone's driveway you don't know that obviously has a gun and ammo?

CM are making a joke, or are you poking fun at those that choose to carry?

In a rural environment having a long gun on your tractor is common sense. The majority of us have some kind of stock or pets, and plenty of things here see them as food sources. Here we have hawks(yes I have watched 2 unsuccessful attempts to grab our chickens), coyote's, bobcat's, feral dog packs(worse than coyote's), black bear & rare but seen panthers. Out in the country you never know who will walk up on your house through the woods & what their intentions are. You also never know who/what you will encounter in your own woods while out for a hike with the wife and dogs. Cell phone's don't work here and if you can make a call help is a minimum of 20min away.

Sorry, but I would rather be prepared and never need it than to be standing there looking dumb while 'yotes attacks a newborn calf. The decision to carry or not is personal & if one chooses to carry or not on their own property that is their business and deserves no derision. Besides, I spent 27+ years dealing with the depths of human depravity and I can tell you it's a bottomless pit so I am never going to gamble with my family or farm by not being ready for a worse case scenario.

I extremely happy that I live in a place that is safe enough that I do not need to carry any firearm on my tractor or anywhere else. Nor do I find the need to hunt from the tractor.

It is inevitable on threads like this. I am surprised it hasn't been more prevalent on this one.

Sorry I've not paid attention to it I guess. Notice you don't know where this great place to live is cause he has not filled that out. Maybe on a Boat somewhere?
