Phil Everly, one half of the brother vocal duo whose sibling harmonies sweetened '50s and '60s rock music, has died. He was 74.

So very saddened to hear this. I always enjoyed listening to them.

I guess I'm a bit surprised that you youngsters even knew about them, since the Everly Brothers were of my generation.:)

Mine too, Bird. Sure did enjoy listening to them sing. My favorite was, "Cathy's Clown". They both served in the Marine Corps as well.

RIP Phil.
Saw the Everly's in 1971 or 72 at Knotts Berry Farm. IIRC it was their final performance before breaking up (the 1st of several breakups/reunions).

I listen to a lot of the "Golden Oldies", Bird. Better than most of what they crank out today!

A half century ago I heard them at 'original' Roof Garden Ballroom in Okoboji Iowa when legendary Drummer J.I. Allison was touring with them. Not like today, I could have reached out and touched their shoes at the front of the stage back then.

I saw them in 2004 when they toured with Simon and Garfunkel during the "Old Friends" tour. They sounded great and I am glad I had a chance to see them. You can get the DVD of the concert.
