I seriously Doubt Muhammad or Briana would ever delete a post... there are a few thin skinned 'always' offended moderators that will follow a thread Only for the purpose of attacking someone they don't like/agree with... It's a shame that some get off on flexing their imagined powers... but it happens.

I saw the posts that got deleted, they violated TBN rules.

The forum rules are pretty simple. Do not post anything that is:
Vulgar
******
Hateful
Threatening
Against the Law
Unpaid Advertising
Political
Brand Bashing

No one hates the Fredster.

I dig the Fredster. I'm actually a registered member of the Fredster fan club. I'm all over this thread and anxiously await the results of the turbo. I also understand that these things take time. Fred will get it going.

The Fred, then The Fredster, next will come "the Fred Nation", good thing you're not from Toronto, you'd be competing with Ford Nation...
Anyway, I'm with you folks who enjoyed this thread, about halfway through reading this, I thought for a while that it might be a waste of time, but not so at all, this is a hoot...
I've got 40 years in the diesel engine business and I'm still learning.... Love this TBN...
Thanks go out to the Fred...

If Fred has it financed, I think the insurance will cover everything, It's insured for the financed company, not Fred.

Assuming that he has KTAC, they have the following listed on their site:

Covered Perils Include, But Not Limited to:
Theft
Fire
Glass Breakage
Falling Objects
Collision
Hail
Tornado
Hurricane
Flood
Vandalism
Roll-Over (upset)
Earthquake
Water Damage
+More!
Exclusions Include, But Not Limited to:
Loss or Damage by Fraudulent Activities
Government Action or Seizure by government authority
Mechanical Breakdown
Wear and Tear

Nuclear Accidents
War
Terrorism
I suspect that problems following the installation of a turbo would fall under either Mechanical Breakdown or Wear and Tear.
I asked for a full list of the terms and conditions to see what the policy says.

I suspect there are a number of people like me who are following this and haven't commented. Please keep it going, waiting to see the turbo install.

AhhHhhh I never said I had KTAC.... Aaron assumed.

Maybe the lizard, or Allstate, ????? or none. Twas a theoretical question. The install goes on and on and on. Waking up in the middle of the night brings me new ideas of simplicity and reliability has been good.

It may likely be covered by the (upset) clause based on the number of people that have got upset over this thread:D If that don't work there is always the "+More" to fall back on.

I found a great deal on a super charger for a Toyota pickup. Being younger and a little foolish I thought I would install it on my play truck. It worked great for a few thousand miles but then the pressure was too great for the rings and they started wearing the groove in the piston. Of course I never paid attention to things like boost and the motor had over 150k miles on it.

I doubt that Fred will run into the problems I had. He seams to be much more on top of things. As far as insurance goes, I had the return throttle cable stick on my super charger. It would have been real easy to drive into a lake (would wait until warmer weather though) when it happened which would be covered by insurance.

Common rail - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Al the supercharger from Toyota Race Development is a pure bolt on. The ECM (engine control module) MUST be re-flashed to get the correct operating parameters (fuel/timing) for success. One thing I like about Toyota for $55 bux and a $350 OBD cable anyone can go online and do the actual software to the ECM. Gasoline engines are MUCH MUCH harder to tune than diesel. The engine pumps air and the fuel/ignition lead must match the airflow for success and no check engine light, pinging, black smoke etc.

Anyone can buy a tuning program online but very few amateurs can have success. I have tuned a few GM engines after spending $2,000 dollars in education to do so. It is very tricky. I am talking actual tuning here not a tuner that has the program already written. I am NO expert and would never tune engines for the general public. It is quite a specialty.

One reason I chose a bygone Kubota model was because it is a very simple design compared to the 60 series with common rail and piezo injectors. These injectors by the way are quite expensive and must be matched to the ECM with software after the install because of manufacturing differences. I replace quite a few piezo injectors in European cars. Just wait until these new models need fixing down the road...I bet the cost to keep running will be quadruple these early mechanical models.

fRied:)

Fred,
Though I still doubt the turbo is going make this machine you want or need it to be, I do wish you all the best in that it works the way you want and hope it will.
Have you done any pencil work on what the turbo will add vs. the cost?

Hoping for the best out come and looking forward to the final results.

Take a guess Randy, does labor count?

316 post's, 32 pages , may beat Carl's record on JD verses Kubota . That tractor has issues or he has the parking brake on .

Labor?!!!
LOL, isn't that the we do for fun?

No I was thinking about the HP and torque boost at what rpms you expect from the retrofit against the out of pocket costs.

Heck I may want to try it myself if in the end it all works out the way you want.

Or he is a dirt tracker at heart, loves to build things with his hands, good with wrenches and always looking for new ways to make more power.

Hope the Fred lets us all know how it works. I am very interested in the boost pressures and exhaust temps. Where did you get the turbo from? I put a boost gauge on mine plus a boost controller.
