good morning all. Hello December is right. Ten after seven a.m. and the lights go out. And why with my UPS did my pc black out too. I look down and realize the pc is plugged into the wrong side of the UPS. A very minor aha moment.
Got that moved. And my whole house gen and my neighbors just shut down, so we're back to PECO. Nice that when it switches over there is zero flicker. Oh,,probably the ups...but the lights didn't flicker either. Very fast switch I guess.
Let's see, ten minutes on a cold Sunday morning. Likely a car hitting a pole or transformer. Someone having a bad morning for sure. Maybe just a tree limb finally giving way. One never knows. I used to know...when an active volunteer fireman you wound up at most of the scenes of the crime, including many a smoking, arcing, spitting, zapping transformer.
We were always waiting around for the utility truck to come kill the juice and do whatever patch work they needed to while they got a new transformer in. I always found it fascinating to watch linemen do their work. And was glad to be standing far back. And glad when they got the wire off the road so I could go home.
I am pleased to report that I am headed off to Meeting this morning, first time in a long time, and I think I can keep my
emotions in check. Going to think happy thoughts, best memories, and ponder what tomorrow will bring.
I've been going to this same very old Quaker Meeting since I was five, and it has been strange to be away so long.
I'm sure it will be nice to "go home". It really is home for me, and we just buried Nadene in the family plot in the large beautiful graveyard there. With some gravestones so old, that it was hard to trace their origins, but some were local Indians, some were likely descendants of William Penn. It is an utterly beautiful place with huge old trees that cost us more than we can afford to take care of each year, but we do. I do a lot of outside maintenance work there, even replastered the wall near our entrance door. And thankfully, it has not cracked in three years. So I can exhale...
you all have a nice day and stay warm.
