Well the house is out together, I got a tree cut into lengths, we ran the water line, and we had to buy more permits. All in all it was a good day.

It looks good. How soon do you hope to move?

We did the same thing last year. We sold the old place in January and lived in a camper while the new place was built, moved in over labor day weekend. We had to build the barn, clear the area for the goats and chickens, dig a well, get power run, put in a 750' long driveway, rented 2 40' storage containers to store all the things from the house and move everything by last December. Quite a bit of work. All while doing a 50 hr 'normal' job and working on everything in the off time. Planted an acre of fruit trees, have a acre garden that grew some great weeds. Hopefully next season we will be able to spend more time working the land. I'd do it again.

Sounds awesome. I can't wait for chickens again, and we are going to have sheep rather than goats. How do you like your goats, dairy or meat or pets? An acre is a lot of fruit trees, what types of fruit? Glad to hear you would do it again. Happy thanksgiving?

We passes our rough plumbing inspection, no pressure test so we have to do that next time, I pray to God there isn't a leak in the pipe. We filled in a foot of sand on top of the pex, then a foot of fill, then a few more inches of sand. We now need to run our conduit for electrical. That will have to wait until after Thanksgiving.

Is PEX standard for underground water where you are.

Asked about it for a line I was replacing and coiled copper is still required here.

We were told as long as it was rated for underground use we are fine.

Always good to know what's available.

Is PEX underground susceptible to rodent damage from gnawing?

I don't know. Someone with more experience with pex will have to answer that.
