New RTV for 2014?

The transmission is redesigned in a way that you don't need it so much any more. The torque curve of the trans matches the engine better. It feels like it has more power, even though it does not. Mid was not really needed any longer.

Have u been able to drive at your dealer meeting. Can you give us some thoughts if you did? Thank messicks!

I spoke with 5 Engineers from Kubota Japan a few months ago at Barlows. I was asked to do this by my dealer since I've bought several (16) Kubotas in the past 10 years from Steve Barlow.
I currently own a B2620 FEL BH a couple of F's and a RTV1140.
One of the questions one of the Engineers (the one that spoke the best English) asked me was about how I'd feel about Kubota going to a 2 speed transmission on the B models. I think this is a direction they want to go or are giving it close consideration. I expressed very negative feelings about it. On the models of Kubotas I own (owned) that have 3 speed trans I usually drive most of the time in the middle gear. I work in first on tractors and do distance travel in 3rd gear but most driving around while working I do in the middle gear.:2cents:

That's interesting John Thomas. I have a B2620 and an RTV 900, and I would say both machines spend about 90% of the time in the medium range. I really would be suspicious of a 2 range tranny, that's one of the reasons I favored the 2620 over a JD 2000 series.

I too agree with a disappoitment in a 2 speed transmission. I use my RTV 1100 primarly for plowing snow ans 90% of the time it is in the middle gear. Low gear is too slow and high gear is too fast. Glad I got mine last year so it will be awhile before I need a new one.

After using a JD Gator and now a RTV I am not a fan of a strait line shifter. I much prefer the H pattern of the RTV. It always was an annoyance to not be able to go to any gear without going through the one I didn't want first.

These RTV's are nice. It is their price that takes them off of our toy list. For people that work them they must be awesome or have a lot of toy money. Climate control could be nice in temperature extremes.

Are the new ones direct injection, and do they have EGR, and particulate filters.

I think anything under 25 hp misses that crap. I am sure that is why Kubota rates them at 24.8hp.

I did drive them. They really did an awesome job. They are more peppy, stop really smooth, ride much better. Price only went up about $500. There is also a high performance model now that's 20% faster and has side doors and seat belts. I'm very impressed. The RTV has been the best seller in this category for 10 years and they really raised the bar high.

Glad to hear. The rtv has been lacking in the power and ride catagory.

Any word of a date when these will be showing up in dealers? I live in Tn and looking to purchase one, if I have to travel a bit that's fine too. They've still not up-dated the build option either on the Kubota web-site.

I saw the new 900 at the dealer yesterday, looks like some nice upgrades.

My dealer invited me to look at the base 900 today, freshly unloaded and still in pieces. I haven't driven one yet but after looking at them they didn't impress me.

Too much plastic down low, susceptible to sticks flying up ect.
4x4 shifter is now low in the floor.
I believe I'll miss M range.
Rear receiver hitch is way up under the rear end and the transmission sticks way out the back.

We'll see. I might trade up for the X1120 if I really like it but.... who knows.

Oh I almost forgot... I might be crazy but the bed seems shorter??? There want any older ones near by and I didn't have a tape measure with me.

On the plus side it looks like a glove box is now standard.

I got one of the last 2013 RTV 1100's here in central Texas. Wanted orange, got camo, only color available. I was worried about tier iv, so I moved on the last tier 3, not knowing a whole redesign was coming. After looking at the new design, I didn't want to be negative, but I don't like look of new ones. The only thing I might have liked was independent rear suspension. I'm sure after looking at the 900 pictures I made a great move. I think Kubota may have lost their compass here, slanting new machine towards the pack of recreational types rather than staying work, commercial, agricultural. If I wanted to go hunting or fishing with it I would have bought a Polaris. Not that my 1100 can't go do those things too, but anyone who thinks those other machines can hang with the RTV in the work AG envelop is not being honest or just has not got their hands on an RTV.
