How many Ham operators out there?

I have seen quite a few ham calls used as user names on the forums. And I got curious, how many ham operators out here ?

I saw a thread like this a couple of years ago, and seems like we came up with nearly 100.. a bunch anyway. Lots of guys on here and past users that don't use their calls as "handles" but are licensed nevertheless..

I keep the license current but haven't used it in over 15 years. Originally got involved with a local ham group in order to chase weather and work local emergencies.

I wonder if we could get a TBN WAS certificate.. Lets see Missouri, Florida Oklahoma, Minnesota. so just 46 more states to go..

Speaking of licensing. this all got me looking. Looks like i need to re up next year. It's been 10 since I did that. can't remember all that i had to do.. isn't there a service that will fill out your application for you now for a small fee? Seems like everything is legaleese these days..

I've always received a renewal notice via mail. But ... I've moved twice since the last one, so I better check the date on my own.

VE3THO . Haven't keyed a mike however since getting a computer, internet and a cell phone. Call sign isn't even up to date to my address.
Local ham club has a few very old members. They linked the repeaters from two adjacent town just to get enough air traffic on 2Meter & 70cm.
One of these days I'll purchase a tri band hand held.

You wont be able to do it until I think 90 days before the expiry.. so nothing you can do now. You can do it all yourself pretty easy on the FCC website. You will need your FRN.. Fcc Registration Numbeer.. real easy.. then you are good to go to modify/renew your license. The whole thing is pretty easy..
