Well, had a brain fart today and forgot to put the grill guard back up. Yep lowered the loader and bent the mounting bracket. Fortunately, the bolts sheered off before too much damage was done.

I figure I must not be the first. So, any of you that have done this and straightened it please share your experience. My buddy has a press and I figure on taking it over and press the bracket back straight.

Actually, there is a plus, I don't have to lower the grill guard to open the hood now!:mur:

Thanks,

Bob

after several episodes with the grill guard on my 3039, I took it off. it's in the barn and will probably stay there till I sell or trade in the tractor.

Been there done that - and although only one pin fits now (the other off only a bit), like you it now allows me to open my hood :) ... hopefully we just gave LS an idea!

A lot of customers have came in to my shop with the same problems. As far as the 2012 models the only one that you don't have to pull the guard down is the G3038. With the new 2014 models LS has redesigned the front ends and I have a XR4046 on the lot which is the same as a R4047 and the grille guard is a solid unit and the hood opens without moving the guard. I have straightened multiple grille guards on the LS's i have sold. It's a lot of work but its a lot cheaper than buying a new guard.

any chance you can start a new thread featuring the XR 4046? I'm interested to see what changes have taken place, regarding cosmetic and features... there's not a whole lot of information out there yet.

I can see what I can do TSO. I just got back from a local farm show and was getting things caught up in the shop. Ill try and get as many pics and information on the XR line as I can. Like I said before I have on sitting on my lot right now. The New XR's have a cab option down to a 37 HP.
