Yep, we are on the river, which is the time line. I get a lot of state workers coming to my community center from Tallahassee for meetings. There is always a few who will get there an hour early.

My cousin had a gas station in Old Town [in Dixie County]. But we never saw him unless we were coming or going to Tampa. My mom and dad had lived down there in the 50's, and we spent a lot of time in Tampa when I was a kid. It is not the same place it was 40 years ago. Their old house was beside 200 acres of orange trees. Now there are apartments where the groves used to be.

Shoot, you wanna see eyes looking back at ya, head to the Water Management Districts in South FLA, aka the Everglades, at sunset. Wait for dark and shine a mag light.:shocked::shocked: During the day you will be lucky to see a gator but at night the water will be full of their eyes looking at you....:eek::eek::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Down in Jacksonville, NC, not FLA, an 80 pound husky was eaten by a gator last week. The gator was killed and it was a monster. Looks like it was 12+ feet. Stupid paper did not mention the size but it was a big'n.

Later,
Dan
Years ago while tranversing Alligator Alley, one of my Brothers and I had our van break down. This was before Alligator Alley was widen and improved. It was two lanes back then. You could see the Gators everywhere. We couldn't sleep because of the Bull Gators "Croaking". We didn't see one Highway Patrol Car. I learned later that few cars traveled the Alley back then at night. This was before Cell Phones. We were so glad to be towed to the Seminole Shell Station.

You must have something attracting all those predators. I suspect you may find you or your neighbor has a growing rat population. Last night the moon was small and not up until 6am.

Is the cat getting fatter?

cat does a good job.

we have a farm.. and of course have livestock and feed.. .. but the barn cat takes care of rodents. ( i have not seen a rodent in the barn in years ).. there are some woods nearby and we do have a rabbit population. lizards.. etc.
