I'm confused. Isn't the issue the shipping? IXLR8's (generous) offer should negate that concern. I thought that Kioti was stepping up to the plate with warranty if Nathan could get it to the dealer. :confused3:

From what I read it seems like the OP is just being contentious now

I live about 40 minutes away from him, I PM'ed him and offered to take a look at it, or help him move it to Wittemores when I get my trailer in a few weeks... his response was, "I'm calling the AG's office".

He's got nothing to call the AG about. Transportation is NOT covered by the machine warranty; it's a black & white issue. If those charges happen to be forgiven, fine. But there's no requirement that transport charges be waived, and it is rare indeed when a dealer other than the selling dealer does so.

So he bought a tractor 400 miles from home and expects free transport for warranty repairs? Am I actually reading this correctly?

Have you not seen your share of this working at dealers Rick?

It seems like Landed has had it with the tractor whether machine or operator error and wants something else. Being that it appears Kioti is willing to repair through one of their dealers, the AG won't touch this just because Landed can't get it there. Then there is IXLR8 who has gone above and beyond by offering his time and equipment to help which was turned down.:confused3: I could only hope to have that kind of help if mine would break. It's hard to be rational with the irrational.

Actually, the real culprit here seems to be stress.. He has a family member in fairly bad health, finances being tapped, etc, etc, and then a tractor that takes way too much time just to get going.. Been there. All he needs is a way out. IXLR8 has offered than.. Nathan, you should take the offer man.. Let someone help you take some of the weight off.

Certainly not the first episode of this type.
Wanting and getting are two different things; as demonstrated here.
Having family health problems to deal with is unfortunate and stressful, but not an entitlement.

I think there are several issues going on here. LaK has had issues with this tractor since the day it was dropped off. The selling dealer has done him no favors with the way he handled things leading to a GREAT deal of frustration and disappointment for LaK. LaK has had less than positive response from Kioti corporate, which has only added to his frustration and disappointment. LaK has a very sick daughter which is adding to his stress. LaK doesn't seem to have the best communication skills which only adds to everybody's stress and frustration trying to figure out what he needs. LaK also seems to expect Kioti to pay for transportation to/from dealer for warrenty repairs.. and that is just not Kioti policy.. I don't know of any brand of tractor who does that. Actually I do understand that Kioti will pay a small transportation fee for warranty work, but according to one dealer it is so small it is meaningless. It won't pay to pick up a tractor 10 miles across town, never mind from 70 miles away. To top it all off... this tractor and hospital bills have drained his financial resources, further adding to his stress. Cooler heads need to prevail and a few prayers for him, his daughter and his tractor situation couldn't hurt.
I can tell you that the local JD and Kubota dealers want NOTHING to do with Kioti tractors. I was at one Kubota dealer when I was first looking for a tractor and mentioned that I was also looking at a Kioti in addition to his Kubota... he went nuts and about threw me off his property, guess which brand of tractor I bought. So it is not surprising to me that he got such a low ball offer for a trade in on his tractor. Around here, unless he is trading it in at a Kioti dealer... he is better off selling it himself if he wants to get rid of it.

They don't want customers comparing them to their product on the lot.

No real need to go down that road yet again is there?

Up to you I guess. I was Not the first to post it.

Sounds like my grand-kids, "he/'she hit me first". I just find the whole brand thing tiresome and a distraction. My Kubota/New Holland or John Deere dealer will trade for anything and has never run another brand down. If they did, I would have gone elsewhere. I want a salesman to tell me about how good their machine is, not rag on others.

I have Case, Massey Ferguson, John Deere, Kubota, Ford and my brother just bought a nice new Kioti and co-owns some of the others with me and our other brother.

Maybe your dealer should open a store in Maine. And WHY do you hit your grand-kids?

It is interesting to me that this thread about Landedakioti's problems has gone on for multiple pages without any input form Landedakioti himself.

That is awful decent of you. Just odd he did not take you up on the offer.

I haven't posted anything lately we are at the hospital in Vermont right now. I didn't turn down any trailering to Whittemore I just told him wanted to move forward to AG. Also I talk to the AG and I have a strong case how I was threaded from day one of owning fighting with giving me a run around on the starting problem and the tires in the back had gashes in them. Took a month to get new ones. Yes Whittemore came and replaced things like the ignition switch but it took kioti a month to send one as the AG office said two or three days to get a part not a month. I wasn't yelling until that rep said what he said. I'm sure that kioti is a good tractor I just got a lemon. Like any other brand will have a lemon. Then the rep calls and ask if I would trade and I said yes even trade they told me to call the dealer I did they offered me a 6,000 Dollar trade in because it has a know electrical issue. Also had high hrs at 195. It would be the fourth time with this issue.

I think it is funny how some people seem to feel there are certain rules of etiquette required to post on a thread
I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand politeness and civility (I always am those two  ) but why do people apologize for high jacking a thread when they just are chatting.
When you have a conversation with people in real life do you apologize for expanding the conversation beyond the first few comments?

Why would someone find it so "interesting" that people keep talking about this thread after the OP has probably been exposed to his folly for rejecting a very generous offer that may have solved all of his issues?
:confused3:

If the Maine AG can eliminate all 30 day part backorders I will be contacting him shortly.

Is he delusional, or is this an election year for him?

Nathan;
Best wishes for your daughter's speedy recovery. But on a less important subject, remember, a tractor is just a tractor unless you are a farmer.
IXLR8 has made you an unbelievable offer. I think he has two Kiotis, and he may be able to diagnose and correct your problem. Worst case, you have some very good company on your way to a great dealer.
In any event, I don't think a faulty ignition switch qualifies as a lemon, and if Kioti is offering you a trade for another Kioti, that is because they are a great company, not because they have to.
I'm very interested in what Whittemore & Sons find, and I would like to read a post from them when they locate the problem.
Please have a safe trip home.

Nathan, I hope your daughter is better very soon. If I were you, when you get the time to devote to the tractor issue, I would call the Rep back and set up a meeting/teleconference with the Rep, you and the dealer so that a conclusion to this issue can be worked out.

The dealer doesn't care if Kioti is willing to "trade even" for your tractor, so long as he doesn't have to eat the loss. If, as you said, the Rep asked if you would trade for a new tractor (the assumption being that Kioti will send the dealer the machine) then the dealer would be delighted to help you out.

Right now, the dealer believes that the deal would be between you and him, not you and the Kioti Rep, through the dealer.
