DK35se HST cruise control

I've never posted anything before but have enjoyed reading the forum for the past couple of years. heres my problem.
I have a DK35se bought new in 2011 with 300 hours on it. The cruise control will not fully engage at any speed or in any gear range. what I mean is that when I'm humming along at a comfortable speed and push the cruise button and take my foot off the pedal, the pedal releases almost all the way back and locks at a "creep" speed.
Is there a mechanical adjustment for this or is it something electrical?

:welcome: to TBN, There is a magnet below the floor board that holds on to the pedal when activated.
