Deck framing all done, ready for decking and rails, I love the vinyl rails like we have on the smaller decks, but I don't love the price!
72 early, going to around 90 and humid, just the way I like it! Supposed to be cool and clear this weekend.

My softball game was cancelled this am. Kinda glad, didn't sleep well last night. SWMBO woke me up at 3 am. Turns out I forgot to close a gate yesterday, and she let the dogs out at 2:30 am. Bubba did not come back. So I got up and drove my truck out into the pasture. The wife was very upset, but Bubba showed up a 1/2 hour later. I don't think he even left the yard, he just didn't come when she called. Probably looking for the perfect place to pee. And I won't hear the end of this for a day or 2!!!

I occasionally have to remind my wife to "never leave a gate open behind you." :laughing: Once in a while I find a gate hanging open because she forgets, or thinks she will be using it again shortly--and doesn't.

Mix of sun/cloud and a high of 16C/61/F.
Well we decided to go into raising meat birds in a bigger way.
So we are going to add a 12ft X 28ft section onto our chicken coop. Hired a guy to help, Friday we will do the cement pony wall and Wednesday pour the slab. Then a couple more days to frame and sheath it.
This will let us do about 500 more birds a year.

OK, I love Maine but the answer is "blackflies".
The word changes in a couple week to "mosquitos" and a while after that to "no-see-ums".

Or to continue with dave1949, the rain falls mainly on the "uninvited guests that show up in July and August, sleep late and stay up later and expect free lobster and to be entertained with fireworks and circus elephants on a 24/7 basis". :laughing: No, I'm not bitter---- but the involuntary twitch is still there...

You left out the deer flies. They've been real bad the past two summers. But, yes, the blackflies are what will save this state from civilization. :laughing:

Oh, they aren't co-workers...they're my employees.
One guy is involved in a project at our Bethel facility, the other person ( a woman) is on bereavement leave due to her father's death. They'll both be back next week.
